As they dock into their harbor the first thing the men notice is a large amount of statues-There's statues on their buildings, statues on the streets, statues on the docks, everywhere you turn there is a statue-and they are all one of 3 figures, the first has horns, a spaded tail, and 2 large batlike-wings, the other of a woman with large fox like ears and 9 tails, and the third of a robed figure wearing a mask. As soon as they see Zephyra many of the locals cram her shouting as they begin to drag her away

Lady Evangline, your back, we missed you so much, the leader would love to meet you.

A few of the natives stay behind and wave to Jack and the others, one speaks to him

You must be the ladies friends, your welcome to come ashore and explore, and see our beautiful island and our statues.

A nearby shop seems to be full of the same statues, and it seems there are nearly a dozen different shops all selling statues. brian whispers to Jack

Well, this is weird. But not too bad just yet.

Jack allows some of his men to go and drink an ale or two on the nearby beach, whilst a sufficient amount of men guard the ship, enough to man the guns and to get them out quick. Jack instructs the other captains to do the same, and walks with brian, Elizabeth stands at his side and his son trails behind, wearing a slim cutlass. The priests follow away from the group, conversing.

As they explore they get the uneasy feeling that millions of eyes are on them, yet the natives constantly greet them in friendly voices, and give gifts to them of various foods, a mask for each of them and a small carved statue of the figures. As they talk to the natives they realize something else strange-They all sound exactly the same-the men, women and even children speak in the same tone of voice. It's a very high pitched, squeeky voice, that grates on the ear, but aside from that the natives are incredibly friendly- and many constantly give hugs to them who are willing. One of the natives- who appears to be a guard comes up and in a friendly voice gives a warning

You may go where you like, but do not touch the statues. Also, do not touch the rock at the center of the village or you will die. Have a good stay here, its so nice to have you.

The natives are constantly talking to eachother and to their visitors, and it almost feels like their ears are starting to bleed from the constant high pitched chatter. Brian grabs his head and whispers to Jack

Im starting to see why Vune didn't want to come here. Im getting a headache.

Jack walks on, smiling painfully. He whispers:

It's bad, but I think Vune may have been exaggerating. Vune claimed she teleported herself to hell to escape this, I rather doubt it.

They enter into house of the leader, and see the largest woman they have ever seen. She stands nearly 20 feet tall, and is rippling with muscles, and is wearing a large demonic mask. In the corner Zephyra-still pretending to be Vune is currently in a large pit full of hundreds, if not thousands of toddlers, all wearing masks as well. The sound when they enter is so high pitched, their ears start bleeding profusely. The leader stomps a foot and it stops and she greets them-in what has to be the most high pitched grating voice they ever heard.

I am Chief Vune. Nice to meet you. It's so nice for Lady Evangeline to visit once more. The children love her. We all do.

In the pit Zeph waves and quickly walks to Jack and whispers.

I want to leave now. I saw things that no one should see.

Zeph waves at the chief as she introduces Jack. The chief asks what he's here for.

jack removes his scarlet feathered hat and says in a respectful voice:

M'lady we are here to map these lands, make scientific discoveries, and to baptize those natives who wish to baptized.

The woman nods

Well, sorry but outside religion isn't allowed here. We must respectfully ask that you do not spread it. We would rather not eat you.

Brian blinks in confusion as Zephyra whispers.

These people eat anything and everything they kill-including people. If you break their laws, the penalty is death.

Carl looks worried as he speaks

So your cannibals?

Chief Vune laughs as she shakes her head and removes her mask-she has 8 eyes, and a large mouth filled with razor sharp teeth stained red with blood. Another native removes his mask and has a similar face, they both put them back on as Chief Vune speaks

We do not eachother-though i admit we used to, but we outlawed that some time ago, but we are not people like you-so eating you is not cannibalism. But we do not wish to hurt you, but if you break the laws of our land, then you will be executed and your bodies eaten so as not to go to waste. Is there anything you would like to ask us about our island, beliefs, or statues? We especially like our statues. Would you like some for your trip?

Jack looks about.

No thank you.

One of the priests starts to speak up but Michael stops him. He whispers to him so quietly that even he can barely hear:[i]

They're not human, they are not in need of conversion, leave it be.

[i]Jack looks around some more and bows.

Right, thank you for your hospitality but we must be going.

Jack and his entourage turn and walk out

Zephyr looks to the chief and kindly asks

Can, I have my mask back?

The chief sighs and gets up, and hands her a black mask. Though she asks her rather hopefully.

Come back and visit us again soon okay? We really miss you. You know we love you right?

She gets very uncomfurtable and says she does and will be back soon, and begins to leave. Brian whispers to Jack

Mate, I wanna get out of here asap too, but don't you think we should ask them about the other tribes and where they are? Or what lies ahead? As freaky as they may be, they are friendly and nice-no sense in not asking for helpful advice.

Jack turns back and walks back in alone.

Is there anything you could tell me about any other tribes or any monsters, that sort of thing.
