After about a day of sailing, during a very beautiful sunny day, Zephyra is taking a nap in the crows nest, when Carl shouts to Jack and points

Jack, look at that!

Not to far in the distance a giant head the size of a frigate Is spotted, it appears to be a monk, with black skin and a shaved head. His eyes are closed and his arms clasped as it looks as if he may be praying. The men look at it with a mixture of confusion, awe, and fear. Brian shouts to Jack

Should we stop and say hi? What do you think?

The monk's head submerges causing a sort of vacuum, as some of the ships get sucked in, 2 of them colliding and being severely damaged. This jolts Zephyra awake as she spots the creature, and she quickly sighs in relief as it leaves before going to Jack.

Im glad no one talked to it. That was a umibozu-and they sink ships that talk to it while it prays. Unfortantely this is still very bad we saw it-they only appear on clear calm days, and their apperance is almost always followed by intense and powerful storms. Worst still, we may run into Funa Yurei. If we see them, just remember one important thing Jack-do not give them a spoon or ladle no matter what.

Jack nods, he signals the message to all ships and looks to the damaged vessels and says in a confident voice.

They'll be fine, they're damaged but they'll not sink.

The ship sails on, elizabeth stands near the taffrail with a sextant teaching william how to use it.

As the ships sail on, the sky quickly begins to darken, as all winds cease and the ships are still. Despite the lack of wind, a deep dread and chill is felt in the air, as without warning a torrent of icy rain begins pouring down, everyone looks on in horror as the water beneath their ships begins to ice over, and deep in the ocean a eerie glow forms, and within minutes hundreds if not thousands of ghost's, with long unkempt hair, and pale dead faces rise up and begin rocking the boats. In a loud cacophony of horrific voices they begin shouting to the sailors one line over and over.

Give us a spoon or a ladle.

Fr. Michael calls out with a voice so loud that somehow everyman on deck can here him.

Stand firm men! We are protected!

He raises his hands to the heavens and begins to mutter under his breath, the other priest following suit, the spirits begin to look scared of something. Jack and most of the others begin to pray.

The spirits dart back into the water, and moments later they all rush out ramming into the sides of a few of the ships, knocking them over, and then they proceed to rapidly grab the men in the water and dragging them down, all the while demanding a spoon. The captain of the Dutch ship, full of fear quickly tosses a spoon at them, begging them to leave, one of the ghosts grab the spoon, and hands it to another, yet still keeping it somehow, within moments they all have spoons, and begin scooping water rapidly onto the Dutch ship, weighing it down until it slowly sinks. Zephyra starts blasting gale-fore winds into the sails, the ice holds the ships for a moment, but eventually they start moving forward. She shouts to Brian to toss some fire into the sea, and he quickly does so, this scares them back for a moment as the remaining ships begin to sail away. The spirits stay back, content with the 3 ships they have sunk, and the cowardly Dutch captain who they drag beneath the waves. After some time the remaining ships are out of the storm, in clear skies. Zephyra sits down exhausted, as she calls to Jack

Im sorry, I forgot that fire can scare them. Its not everyday you see these poor souls. They are the spirits of drowned men and women, and they have a deep envy of the living-and like to bring them down with them.

oh wait, I forget, was it the Spaniard captain you said seemed cowardly, or did you say he seemed to be the only brave one? I gotta double check that and fix it if needed.

Edit-it was everyone but the Spaniard so I changed it to the Dutchman who was the coward.

thanks

the priest walks to the rail and says a prayer releasing the souls and a prayer for the souls of the men who dies. Jack turns to zephyra looking furious, but all he says in a grateful yet angry tone is:

Thank you.
