After some time the last of the slimes ambush are eliminated. A fair number of men died and a few got injured. Brian looks around and quickly begins helping patch up the wounded, while having the dead placed in a pile. He turns to Jack

Well, the good news is now we know that these things can jump us from above and below. So we won't fall for that trick again. Bill wasn't kidding when he said don't drop your guard. These things can kill us pretty fast if they get a hold of us. For now I suggest we fall back a bit and wait outside this cave for Mikkel to come back with some more men.

He gestures to the feet of most men, and it seems they are nearly dissolved.

We should also get someone to ask the port for some extra pairs of boots. Carl, your fast, can you do that, get the golems Emily gave us to carry all the boots.

Carl dashes off while Brian begins heading out of the cave. He asks some of the men to help him carry the dead to put them with the others outside.

In the meantime, Mikkel arrives with the Nord crew.

One of the veterans in the crew walks to Agnar

Sir, are you sure the recruits should be here?

Agnar shakes his head

In fact, I'd rather let them stay on the ship, but we might need them.

Carl comes back with plenty of boots. He distributes them out, and has everyone keep an extra pair. Brian has the golems stand guard outside while he goes back in. He shouts to all the men

Keep an eye out on the cracks below and the ceiling above. We lost quite a few men because of an ambush from those areas. The good news is that quite a few of these damn things are gone now.

Well... I can keep them away from this point.

Jack takes off his buckled shoes and puts on the boots, as do his men.

[Meliva]

The group begins to head back into the cave, keeping an eye out for any attacks from above or below. After a while they enter a rather large chamber, with a massive pool in the center, tons of slimes surrounding it. More slimes start coming out of the pool, and begin to surge towards the group. Brian looks around and see's no other passages he shouts to the group.

That pool must be where they are coming from. We kill the slimes here, and destroy the pool and the slimes are finished.

Carl nods as he starts fighting the remaining slimes, Brian fighting by his side.

[Jack Teach]

Mikkel leaps to the priest, helping him fend the slimes off. Agnar fights towards the pool

Brian and Carl flank Agnar, helping keep the slimes from hitting him from the side or from behind. Brian shouts to him somewhat concerned.

I hope your rune sword can destroy that pool.
