He grins and then hobbles off.

Vune looks to all the mercs still passed out in the tavern before speaking.

Moppet, do you know why all these men have been passed out here the last day or 2?

Emily shrugs.

I thought they were just bums and drunks.

Carl just shrugs.

I think dow put them to sleep with a spell. Kind of forgot about them honestly. Shouldn't they be awake by now.

Vune gets up checks them and before turning and speaking.

yeah, these men are dead. They seem to have had their throats slit while they were asleep.

Emily looks rather shocked, she begins speaking rather surprised.

How could someone slit all these men's throats and not be seen by the.........bartender.

She says that last word with a whisper as she looks to see the currently empty bar her eyes narrow as she quickly comes to a realization. She gets up and curses.

No bloody wonder one of the killers knew where to strike, and how to avoid hunters, he was listening in on all the conversations the mercs had at his bar. That must be how he knew which room Dow was in too.

The priest continues to walk on, but then he stops. He turns around hobbling. He calls out in a feeble voice

Hello?

Jack looks at all the mercs

Poor buggers.

The priest see's the local bartender rushing toward him looking panicked and tired he seems to be bleeding on his head and arm. He pants as he points back to the tavern.

Father, I hate to trouble you, or ruin your plans but someone attacked me as I was getting some food from a nearby store. He chased after me, but I managed to slip away but he's still after me.

Nearby a masked man is appraoching weilding a sword in one hand and a club in the other. The bartender cries as he hides behind a barrel shaking. The masked man laughs as he looks to the priest.

[Jack Teach]

Now my good man, please put your weapons down, we can resolve this nonviolently.

The man shakes his head and walks forward.The priest reaches inside his cassock and before the man can react, pulls out a pistol and blows the advancing man's brains out. The priest turns to the bartender, realizing.

Wait a minute...you have food in the tavern...

The priest pulls out a second pistol and clubs the bartender with it, he pushes the bartender to the ground putting his pistol into the back of his head. He escorts him to the bar with the pistol pointed into his back, upon seeing this, jack points his own pistol at the bartender.

The priest wouldn't be able to deduce that the bartender was lying just like that Jack. Where do you think taverns get their food? They don't grow it themselves they need to occasionally go out, and restock the supplies.

I personally enjoyed how the priest shot the pursuer in the face, without knowing all the details. Could have been a good guy.

Gregory comes around the corner and finds his gunner's mate dead from a shot to the head. Greg looks at the priest and Jack, rather annoyed.

Seriously, what the f*ck? Which one of you ass clowns killed my man?

And now that I think about it a bit more, even if the tavern was full and didn't need restocking that still wouldn't be proof he is lying about getting food. The man could have been going to get some sweets from a candy store, or to eat at a restaurant. Or maybe he was running low on food in his own home and wanted to restock there. And the fact that the priest didn't even hesitate on attacking him is also bullcrap. I mean hell, even if he WAS lying about getting food that does not mean he's a killer. Maybe he was going to a brothel and didn't want to admit it.

The priest looks to the approaching man. He holds out his hand.

Now my good man, put down your weapons, lets talk.

the man continues to advance, brandishing his sword and club. The priest reaches into his cassock and pulled out a pistol into the advancing man's face, blowing his brains out. The priest turns to the cowering bartender.

What are you actually doing out here?

He steps back, placing his hands on his sword.
