Role-Play- Ghasts in Gasp

Postby Meliva » Thu May 03, 2018 10:12 pm

Time for the new RP. This one is once again a 4 on the realism scale, so very unrealistic. Rules are as follows.

1. Try to keep things in character. Don't post something unrelated to the RP here. If you don't like this RP, don't complain about it here. Post a new thread or start your own RP thread if you don't like this one. I would actually be quite happy if someone posts a RP of their own so please feel free to do so.
2. You can control your characters actions-You can not control others. NPC's are fair game and anyone can control them, so long as its believable and in character. A guard for example shouldn't just up and decide to shoot an orphan for no reason-that is out of character. Anyone without a name will be considered a NPC, if you name a character but want it to be a NPC then just mention that said character is NPC in quotation marks after a post.
3. You are allowed to have multiple characters- but be reasonable. Don't flood the story with a bunch of your characters. 2 or 3 in one story is fine, anything past that is sort of pushing it unless you are really good at managing them.
4. Use Italics for actions, and try to separate things nice and neat. Also use paragraphs when needed. Quotations if for speaking out of the roleplay.
5. No editing of a post once you post it. The exception is to fix spelling mistakes or minor errors. It can be real annoying when someone posts one thing and another responds to it only to find what they responded too is now completely different.
6. The most important rule- Have fun.

Next post begins the story.

The port of Gasp has had a horrifying time as of late. Undead flood the port, people cower in fear in their homes, and madness has spread into their minds. They are terrified and mistrustful of outsiders, some even have resorted to killing and chasing away those who come. All pastors in the port have been killed, and their heads lined in the harbor warning pastors to stay out. A small ship is nearby waiting on the ocean as 2 men await on board. Brian and Carl are their names. They are waiting for Jack and Agnar to show up, deciding its too dangerous to embark alone. Brian watches for their ships as they stay away from the port until they arrive.

A large frigate sails alongside. Jack hails them from the quarterdeck.

Brian shouts from the deck to meet them in port harbor. When they enter into the port an intense feeling of fear, hatred and terror floods into all the men, whispers can be heard in the back of their head as they step inside. It becomes clear very quickly that something is very wrong in this place. A young woman in a cloak approaches and waves, she removes her hood and it's Emily, she looks surprisingly happy as she smiles at them.

Hey guys, I figured you all would show up sooner or later good to see you. Could use your help too, I been checking out the port, but everyone is too scared to speak to me. They all shout "zombie" or "vampire" or "undead" when they see me and run away screaming.

Brian shrugs.

To be fair you are undead.

Emily nods.

Which is why they won't talk to me, but they might talk to you. On the plus side, whenever I go near other undead they leave me alone.

Jack and the priest exit the ship. The priest wears a heavy black robe over his cassock. Jack asks:

What on earth caused this?

Emily shrugs.

Something very evil, and very powerful I'm guessing, but not sure about more then that. The locals don't seem interested in talking to me based on the fact I'm lich, and most of the undead here are mindless so talking to them doesn't help.

The whispering in their heads keeps going and they continue feeling waves of fear and anger wash over them. Carl and Brian get urges to start fighting eachother, as a man begins to approach the group, he looks about in his mid twenties, though he looks like a bum, and seems to be covered in quite a bit of garbage. He points to a nearby door before speaking.

Howdy, I'm Frank. You all might wanna come with me into the sewers. The whispering don't happen down there and your mind won't be mucked with. Hence why I'm pretty dirty.

Emily looks confused.

What whispering?

Frank just laughs.

Only the living hear it. A corpse like you will be fine.

Emily shrugs and heads down anyway, Carl and Brian following behind wanting to get away from the whispers.

Jack follows, praying loudly and quickly, gripping the side of his head. The priest lays a hand on his shoulder, a look of peace comes over Jack's face. Jack and the priest follow

Once down their heads begin clear. Emily just looks to Frank and asks.

Mind filling us in?

Frank nods.

A while ago, a large scary looking spectre floated into the center of the port. It just hovered there, and the whispering started. A local pastor went to it, started praying and that made things go from bad to worse. It flew to him, tore him to pieces and went on a murder spree. Killed 20 people, before going back to the center of the port and the whispers got worse. A few more pastors came, tried again, and the same thing only worse. nearly a hundred people died, a few buildings were torn apart and the whispers became shrieks for nearly a hour. After that the locals believed that pastors trying to solve the problem only made it worse, and a few stated that perhaps it all started cause of the pastors, so they went and killed all of them. Didn't solve the problem as you can tell. The spectre left, but comes back periodically, and just hovers in the center of port before fading. I was living as a bum down here and I found out the whispers don't reach underground. Dunno why, but I aint complaining.

Frank just shrugs.

Mate, I'm a bum who lives in the sewers. I don't exactly have a lot of people who come down here to talk with me. Though I think I know where that spectre came from. Quite a few years ago during the Spanish inquisition, there was a cave nearby where an awful slaughter happened. A local politician framed an opponent of his and all his followers as heretics, planting all sorts of things into their homes. The group tried to flee, but were chased into the caves. They were all slaughtered and the cave was sealed up. But not too long ago miners opened it up after hearing stories of gold in the caves, and that was around the time the spectre came. I feel it also explains why it hates prayer and pastors, considering how it died.

Emily nods,

That would explain it. Innocent people killed unjustly and never given proper services are often the main causes of nasty spirits.
