The priest shakes his head

Nope. It's only temporary. That idea of having someone drink something and them just being cured is incorrect. It might work for awhile, but it won't work forever. My point is an unholy man cannot say: "In the name of the Lord, I command thee, oh foul creature to crawl back to pit and leave this child of Christ be." And expect any results. The demon will simply laugh in their face.

Veera looks a bit smug as she replies.

Child of Chris? I think you may have drunk a bit too much. Unless I have been mistaken on his name this whole time. And of course an evil man wouldn't be able to cast out demons that way-they are relying on the power of god to do so-who would never do so for an evil man. It would be like if someone tried blasting my sister by relying on my power-I would never give my power to an enemy or one who I think is not worthy. And any exorcism is temporary-if you went and cast out demons in Carl for example with your method, and a week later he makes a satanic pact he's going to be filled with demons again. Same with my potion-it removes a demon just fine, but if the person is stupid they can get possessed again.

Christ.

The priest smiles

I meant, that the demon becomes dormant. We tried using this potion, our subject a year later was acting up again, he had done so satanic things in that period.

The priest shrugs

Maybe it works sometimes, maybe it doesn't. My point was that a pervert, can't cast out demons in the nam of the Lord.

Veera shakes her head.

You screwed up the potion then, or he had multiple demons in him and you needed to give him more doses. Or he did do satanic deeds and you simply didn't find out. Ask Nelly here about how the potion works. She went and got possessed while studying under me-I give her the potion, and moments later she vomits up the demon. If the drinker doesn't vomit up the demon then you did something wrong or need more potion. And yes admittedly calling on the lord to do something won't work if you are not worthy of his help. But my point is that even evil people like myself can cast out demons.

Nelly nods.

I remember that. It was very unpleasant, and afterwards I decided to no longer deal with demons. Too risky. But I can attest it works. Or at least it worked for me.

The priest presses his hands to the sides of his head.

Maybe for the demons you deal with, but there's a problem: Most aren't inside you, most are on the outside, attached.

He takes a drink. Jack is looking outside.

It's dawn.

The armor reforms itself, though this time the it does not emit so much black light

It continues to march toward Veera’s lair, as if something inside is attracting it

Veera looks interested again at the armor as it moves again as she remarks to Nelly.

I thought for sure that this armor was after me to kill me, but it seems its after something in my lair. Perhaps some of my tomes, or other magic item I have. I do not recall having any prisoners lately, so I doubt its here to rescue anyone. And on the fact that not all demons dwell inside a person, once again, there are ways to deal with them aside from calling on your god. That's the problem with most of you priests you so foolishly think that only your god can solve most issues, when quite honestly a bit of thinking and hard work can solve a problem.

Veera curses at the dawn as she puts her hood up and puts on some dark glasses, covering her pale skin and dark eyes. Nelly remarks.

Oh yeah, you don't like the sun much do you.

Veera nods as she laughs

Well, when you spend years living in a cave, the light of the sun is rather blinding. It doesn't hurt me, but it makes it hard to see, I'm used to softer lights.

Veera begins following close behind the armor, curious as to what its coming for. She orders some students to prepare certain things just in case. She calls back to the priest and Jack as Brian and Carl wake up.

I know you lot don't like or trust me. But I sincerely wish you luck in dealing with Emily. I do care for her, and I hate to see her suffer. But if I ever hear you do anything harmful to her, I WILL pay back the blood debt you will owe me. I always pay my debts after all.

Jack, scowling gets up, puts on his hat and says:

Emily will be fine. Also, don't come to my Island again.

The priest stays however, he says in a serious tone:

If I hear of you murdering nuns or clergy without good reason, then I'll come, and you'll have one awful day when I arrive.

With that, the priest gets up nods respectfully, and leaves. He says:

Come along Nelly, no reason to be here any longer.

Inside the cave, the armor scans around, as if looking for something, then it walks toward the prisoner area

Veera just shouts back.

Far as I'm concerned that island is Emily's not yours. And ill come and visit her whenever I damn please. Need to reconnect with her now that Ellen is gone. And I recommend you tell your clergy buddies to stay out of my lairs if you don't want them getting slaughtered. You wouldn't like it if I had my students trespass in your church so keep your priests out of my lairs. Its only fair after all.

Nelly just gets up and heads out with Jack. Brian and Carl follow along. Veera follows the armor, though as it enters it gets blasted back into the main area. She sits down and begins to watch it. A student comes along and ask if she should do something, but Veera laughs and replies.

No, im curious what it will do. And if it will recognize it can't enter any area without getting blasted back.
