Possibility of Bot Users?

Postby Grimrock Litless » Fri Mar 30, 2018 3:12 am

Is it possible for people to use bots to auto cast mindbar when it runs out or is taken out using voodoo?

While most webpage games like this has a system that ask the player playing is a bot or not, every few hours. Eg. Pick a matching picture, Type in the words in the photo, etc.

Some of the players seem to speak highly of their ability to some what code, I just wanna know if there are plans on adding systems to check if players playing is indeed players and not bots.

Anytime I get off of the website I have to re-login because the session expires.
PM me any complaints (10M gold coin wire fee is mandatory).

There is a checkbox when you login which has the caption of Remember me. If you check that, you will avoid this re-login.

Yes. It sounds hard though. But anything is possible. Some people have hacked military grade facilities for example.

We have an anti bot system.

Do you know anyone who uses bots? Or even suspicions?
Who are these players that create suspicions to you? Do you have names?
Summarize them in a list, alongside with any case you have at hand and send it to me via a private message.

However, if you stir up again this type of controversy in the forums, there will be no warnings, just a forum ban. So consider this reply an official warning for violation the forum rules regarding reporting: You should only do this in private. General accusations is even worse in my book. Your first ban will be weekly.

I feel doing what Gimrock suggests has no strategic advantage, actually would be terribly easy to burn off a ton of that players mindbars with clearing cards and cost them huges ammounts of money.

Might make sense to keep trade routes running. But then why even bother playing the game if you not going to log in.

Only real abuse that makes sense is having bots run accounts that send you gifts. I would however suspect admin would notice fairly quickly if an account was not doing anything but sending gifts.

Maybe I shouldn't have used the word bots but script.

Oh well, maybe in the future when there is lots more people playing before this is needed.

Mind you, this is not a suggestion. But questions.

I would quit the game if i needed to prove I was not a bot serveral times a day. I prefer to trust that admin is doing their job.

Easy enough; I am sure a small simple script would be able to do this.

Lets say facebook login:

Link to Pirates Glory Facebook
If NOT LOGGED IN facebook Insert "Username" & "Password".

Click "Click Here to play" (HTML element)

Another link to mindbar
If not filled, field = GET ID

Click "Cast Curse"

Exit.

(Obviously this is a simplified version, but I am sure its along these lines of how its possible.)

If wrong, please correct me :)

It's more than possible, the question would be why would anyone want to do so? Game play is somewhat dependent on other peoples game play. The analytics involved would be tremendous and not worth the effort.

From what I see only startegy in this would be usefull if script is able to pull money from bank or if it would trigger use of mindbar after being casted on...
