Forgive my real life example for a second.
If you are a sales man, and you are trying to get maximum profit out of you potential client. You make the sale but that client no longer wants to deal with you.
If you instead accepted a lesser profit short term, you will be able to get that client to come back and buy again and again. May be bring friends and family. And then your long term profit will beat your short term one from case one.

The "again and again" part is what you guys are fighting against. Maybe the analogy is bad.

As a trader you put as many ships as you can to sea to maximize your profit. Why isn't it allowed for a pirate to do the same? You want to limit pirate activity then also limit trade activity. If dman is only allowed to cast on 2 or 3 players in one guild a month then by that standard all traders should be limited as well.

This is a game, not real life.

Game example. At the end of the Merc/VUDU war I had one fleet sailing and had several ships stashed away in the marina. Insde of 5 maybe 6 days I was back to full force trading and 10-15 cap fleets.

My point is, you can get wiped out either because of raids or by your own choice and be back in no time with a little effort. I went from 5 ships to nearly 500 in under a week. Yes the first few trade fleets I bought with credits from the market., but the vast majority of them came from inactive.

I conducted ship raids for warships.

Now put it in perspective. You are acting like dman completely wipes someone completely out and then as soon as they get built back up he wipes them out again. Is that the case? Almost all cast are HNs or FFJs. HNs only require a bit of help from guild to limit damage. FFJs the same. If He cast ffj on someone and was able to completely wipe out all their trade fleets, is that his fault or does the guild bear some responsibility as well?

I am someone who at times is considered a "massive trader" by admin standards, and at times in the past a pirate and privateer. No matter what role I am playing at the time I go 100% to maximize what I can. Just like a trader tries to maximize his profit using all the tools at his disposal.

Targeting the same player over and over again usually occurs because nothing changed from the first time and the "profit" was maximized. Seems similar to traders using Akro/Psaral party route to maximize their profit.

Why is it that the only bad things in the game come from pirating. This is a game not real life. There is no law against pirating, no limit in the rules, The name of the game is PIRATES GLORY.

If you want to change game play then do like everything else and suggest it in the suggestions thread and let admin evaluate it.

Here is the kicker........ you are claiming the moral authority of all of Avonmora to limit Pirate Style game play in a game called Pirates Glory. If anything should be outlawed in this game it should be traders. Make all traders NPC traders, make all banking NPC banking, etc etc.

This is a game.....

This is a game.....

This is a game.....

This is a game and it is called PIRATES GLORY!!!

If your going to claim a moral authority against Pirates for Pirating to much, then pirates can claim that same moral authority against Traders for trading to much.

After all, why should you be able to put 1000 ships to sea, when other smaller/ newer players aren't able to compete against that.

You are right. It is a game and lately because big all this comllaining and fighting, it has been more stressful than real life. Suddenly that generation with ID 65000 to 75000 comes in, learns a bit and all hell break loose! What is up with that group? You are all driving me insane to the point that I was going to quit the game on 3/21 for my own sanity! I still will take a temporary may be permanent break after this is over just to cool my head off a bit!
You are all so rigid and vocal for all the wrong reasons, bully each other and other players and follow no rules and are upset about everything!

Guess what! You want to have fun, so does others and yet you are purposely deprimo others from their fun and won’t be told off because it reduces your fun! Boho! Just learn to play nice and no one witll have a problem.

You are all stuck on a point you've assumed was our purpose.

Judgement is made by all, the second someone is hit with voodoo they make a judgement call, "will i judge this tolerable and let it go." Or "will i judge this unacceptable and make a stand?"

This is a stand against certain actions "we" deem intolerable according to our judgement on the situation. I'll be damned if i role over and take any hit. No different than Dman. As much as we are at odds, we are both similar in that regard. He wont tolerate it either and thus makes the judgement call to act to prevent future actions.

I have no war on piracy, the game needs it, i have a war on certain actions i deem toxic. Its my right to fight back as it is anyone elses to or even attack. You say add escorts, well thats one way, or i can hit back to the point i will no longer receive the actions i fight against... (read bangers profile for a better quote on that).

Yes, you can hit back. And you can advise other players on how they should also hit back. You, however, can't be the Avonmora police and tell me how I can conduct my business. If I start getting hammered by every trader in Avonmora then I will have to rethink how I go about my business won't I? You telling me how I should operate just makes me want to molest all the low hanging fruit even HARDER and HARDER, which I may very well do.

Just remember all actions have an equal and opposite reactions.

Adding escorts is a futile move. As a trader you can never add enough escorts to avoid pirates. Pirates only need one fleet where a trader needs several, all as strong or stronger than the pirates. A trader with 20 fleets will need 20 sols to stand any chance against attacks from pirates with 1 sol (provided the pirate doesnt have more than one warship in that fleet) and if the pirate gets another sol then the trader needs 40 and so on. That is an arms race not possible to win for a trader and a waste of gold. Should it however be possible to build convoys of several fleets for traders but not for pirates, then we can start discussing it. (One warfleet to protect a, limited in number, group of trader fleets could be a solution to the present imbalance)

I build my trade fleets with 2 sotls and a flag galleon, if some one wants to cast on me and then use a heavy fleet to clear my fleets, they will run up danger on a decent cap fleet and I will witch doctor them into oblivion.

To your point though, it is a bit of an arms race and perhaps should give pause to a trader on how big he really wants to be.

I know MERC were just quaking in the holds of their ships when you opened up on them during the VUDU /MERC war.

Give it a rest mouthpiece... you have shown what you are made of. Your words and actions are at opposite ends of the spectrum
