Gregory laughs, stands up, draws his pistol at the same beaker and fires, also missing it by a mile.

Did I miss on purpose or am I bad aim as well?

Gregory turns and heads out.

Good luck, but I guess you don't really need it. As you said, you can do it all by yourself. Guess you should have done so from the get go, including getting Felior out of the noble area and finding out where their headquarters was at. I don't recall seeing you at either.

Gregory moves quickly back to the second floor and begins searching through the scattered documents.

[Meliva]

Gregory suddenly feels chill as a woman appears nearby. It's Veera and she's holding the ledger he hid along with some other documents.

You sure did go out of your way to get this didn't you Greg. That idiot Carl sure is causing some problems too-I think ill kill him soon. Regardless my name might be in here too, and I certainly don't want that getting out. So I hope you don't mind if I take it instead.

She smiles as she disappears, and a flame erupts completely engulfing the second floor incenirating all the documents, though they avoid burning Greg. Emily meanwhile is studying the runes on the door when they disappear, and it creaks slightly open. She frowns.

This is very suspicious.

She orders the golem to go in and scout while she checks her items.

[DezNutz]

Gregory curses loudly and runs down toward the powder storage where he hid the ledger. Verifying that the ledger has been taken, Gregory curses in a rant and furiously punches the stone wall repeatedly. With one final punch, the stone ruptures and the earth tremors slightly. Gregory takes a step backward, breaths in deeply, and calmly walks back toward the town.

After a few moments Emily looks impatiently at the door, when it swings open and her golem is sent flying back in pieces. Looking back into the door she looks a bit surprised. A bunch of bizarre amalgamations come forwad, humans with animal features, hybrid animals consisting of different beasts, and the most worrying creature, a 25 foot tall giant, with metallic plates infused into its skin, and a large club in its hand. on the other side is Nelly, standing with a masked figure. Nelly gives the group the bird as they disappear, and 2 firebolts fly out striking Oggie and Carl knocking them both back and torching most of their clothes, and their documents. Emily shouts to everyone.

Try to buy me some time, i have an idea.

She runs off down another corridor, while Carl and Oggie get up, hurt by still alive. They cover themselves with nearby cult robes and prepare to fight, as the creatures move forward.

[Jack Teach]

Jack calls to his men.

Stand to!

They form a line as best the can, the first row drop to their knees and the first to rows aim muskets.

Fire!

They fire, killing several dozen. Jack fires two pistols into the line of creatures, killing two

As some of the creatures die, their bodies start shaking, and bulging, until some sort of disgusting bug like creature comes out of the corpses. Oggie feels queasy at the horrid sight, as he shoots the creature, the giant however walks forward, the bullets bouncing off him, as he raises his club and smashes at several of Jack's men, killing some of them. Carl shouts as he grabs some chains and quickly darts around the giant, tripping it causing a loud thud.

I don't see any flesh on this thing, its completely covered in metal, so i don't think bullets or normal weapons is gonna hurt this thing.

A few creatures leap onto Carl but he quickly throws them off, punching one of them. He see's the giant begin to break the chains as it begins to get up. He shouts at it, and it swings killing a few creatures as he dodges. He shouts to the others as he chucks a rock at its head and it roars in rage.

Ill lead this thing away, you all deal with the other abominations.

Carl quickly runs away, the giant chasing after him. Meadow grabs a sword and begins stabbing at the other creatures.

[Jack Teach]

Jack draws his sword, it shines brightly despite the fact that it still has bloodstains. He begins cutting down creatures, after they are hit, they claw at their faces as they seem to burn up from the inside, as if they are something completely unholy. Jack steps back, his men begin firing volleys, with one side firing and then stepping back to reload whilst another line of men steps forward to fire. Soon almost all the creatures are shot dead, their blood spraying wildly with each hit. Soon all the creatures are dead, leaving only the giant.

[Meliva]

Emily comes back, with a big chunk of red rock. She runs forward, and tosses it into the giant's chest, jumps back, and fires a single firebolt into it, causing a rather large explosion. The giant is sent backwards, though it rises again, but the plates on its chest are gone, She shouts to aim for its heart, and after shouting she quickly rushes deeper into the lab where Nelly vanished, and begins gathering various notes, and papers, along with a few books. Oggie just looks at her dumbfounded and she just shrugs.

Hey, I'm not doing all the bloody work for you lot, I made it vulnerable, so you guys kill it, while I start hoarding all this sweet, sweet delicious knowledge.

Emily continues scouring the lab, gathering everything she deems interesting or potentially useful. After a while her robes and bags are getting full, she turns and shouts.

And after its dead, I could use some help hauling everything I want back. This sort of stuff could be very useful to me. Surprised they didn't burn this stuff-way more valuable in my opinion then the crap elsewhere.

[Jack Teach]

Jack's men aim there muskets and open fire. The giant howls as hundreds of heavy caliber musket balls hit it, it then collapses with a final cry, blood streaming down its body. Jack walks over to the dead giant and fires a pistol into its skull.

Well, this is quite the mess.

[Meliva]

Well the shot you fired at its skull would probably just bounce off-Emily's explosion took off the plates on its chest, and that's it. But ill just say you shot it into its eyes. That would be an area that would be unguarded.

Emily nods looking at the carnage. Though she does look thoughtful for a moment.

You know, after a very thorough cleaning, a bit of time rebuilding, and a bit of redecorating this would make a fine hideout for me, in case I ever need to flee my tower.

Emily starts to daze out, mumbling to herself about possibilities, improvements and plans, as she starts putting bits and pieces of the various creatures into vials and jars. She goes to the giant, and with a bit of effort and magic removes its head, and places it into a nearby sack. Many of the men inch away from her, though she pays them no mind. Carl and Oggie just shrug and look to Jack.

Well, I suppose we did what we could. Maybe once she snaps out of her daze we can ask her to help track them down. But for now I think id like to lie down, rest and get some food and drink in me. We made a good blow today, even if we didn't get the leaders.
