Emily shrugs.

So long as you promise if anyone tries to enter my cavern without permission your men will try to stop them, then its fine. My tower and cavern lies in the center of the island, as you remember. You can settle all the areas around it but not above it. It would also be unwise to enter the cavern without permission. I in my time dealing with magic have built up quite the resistance to it, and its currently at the point where its starting to destroy my body, as you can see. If your average person were to enter the cavern now without any protection they wouldn't last long. At the moment all the entrances are sealed to keep magic in and people out.

Meadow looks worried.

Wait if its killing you shouldn't you stop! I'm all for being wild and crazy but this seems, suicidal.

Emily laughs
I have things set up so that when this body dies, my soul will just transfer to a new one i have premade. Learned that from the nun's library. Real interesting stuff was in there, including my little obelisk plan. Eventually i do plan to seal all the magic tightly away, and make it safe to enter for anyone. Should only be a month now. Anyway, i have more work to do, this obelisk needs more work, and if you lot hang around too long, you might start dying like me. Gotta seal it up and i need concentration for that. Ill talk to you all later.

Emily turns back to the obelisk and begins working on it. Meadow nods and heads to the tavern. She whispers to Jack

She always was a strange one. Think losing Ellen might have messed her up more.

At least she no longer cuts of men's hands for a sour look.

Meadow nods.

She wrote to me about that. Didn't the man grope her? I mean still quite excessive but the man deserved some punishment. Didn't deserve to lose a limb though. Ellen really helped her straighten out. Just hope she keeps on the straight and narrow, but if Ellen told her to I'm sure she will. She almost idolized old Ellen. Really looked up to Veera too before the whole incident. I do wonder what Emily is doing that requires so much magic.

[Jack Teach]

Aye, she did. Rest assured, under our law, the punishment would be...quite severe.

Eric pulls out a flask and takes a swig as he walks up towards the group

You guys move way too fast.

Sorry, seemed pretty important and I rushed without thinking-a bad habit of mine. You ever meet Emily? She's a pretty talented witch, or sorceress or whatever the hell kind of magic user she is, if there's any difference in them. You can go talk to her if you want. Don't know what she is doing, but I would rather leave. This place makes me feel weird-think its the magic she talked about.

Meadow spots 2 very large luxurious wagons heading to the noble district, with a bunch of highly armed guards around them.

That must be the king of Spain and Queen of England showing up. I'm almost tempted to go back and continue trashing the governor's place, but I'm a woman of my word. If you lot wanted to cause trouble though, I can't stop you. You just have to get in without my help. I'm gonna head back to my buddy's tavern and drink and party with people who know how to have fun.

As she begins to leave she remembers something and quickly tosses everyone a fairly large sack.

Payment for being my escorts. 500 gold coins each. Granted I didn't expect to rake in so much loot from the governor, so I suppose that's just a little bonus more then anything. Ill make sure to hire you lot again if I run into you, your all pretty fun and interesting.

[Jack Teach]

Jack looks at the bag.

Carl smiles at Jack as he feels the bag in his hand.

Man, I haven't had so much fun in years. I'm gonna go back to the tavern, and get me a huge plate of food and more rum. Then I'm gonna challenge every punk in there to a fight, and show them that Captain Carl Carlson is the toughest man around.

Carl smiles as he begins walking back to the tavern, already cracking his knuckles and neck eager to start fighting.
