I'm beginning to think my shortlist will be woefully short of required length

I had a shortlist of 134 players when I was Captain. I wonder how many players there are in the lists of the current batch of captains.

A number of great, if predictable, picks so far. Looking forward to the draft of the less-expected and surprise picks.

Yup. It gets difficult because you have to have a backup for the backup of the backup of your backup for your choice.

I started with 50 thinking it would be sufficient. Man was I wrong! They were all gone before we hit 5th round

An honor without question. After slowing down in piracy and moving onward to a more quiet setting, I wondered if i'd even be chosen this draft.

There are many new players since the last draft that are doing well, and many from the last and before that are truly making a name for themselves. The pool of potential picks thickens and the competition grows with every draft season.

When i was captain i made a list of about 40, and that made it to about round 8 i think before i needed to start thinking of more picks.
A handy tip to consider is make a list as long as the total number of players drafted. So since 50 people get drafted. make a list of top 50 players you want. That way even if the other captains each pick 10 of thoes players that leaves 10 for you to pick.

I would like to challenge the pick of Haron by Pulpop. The rules state very clearly that the player must be active. Haron is not active, nor does he have any ships.

I would think an objection would have to come from another captain. Player activity is a major hurdle in picking teams. Considering that Haron is in MERC, Pulpop would know if he is truly an inactive.
