Jack picks up a drink of wine that was with the food, he looks at the liquid and begins to gain a strange, puzzled look on his face. He takes a sip, and gags. He stands up looking around frantically, clawing at his mouth. He gains a slightly scared look on his face, which isn't normal for him at all.

what the hell?!

Emily grabs the bottle and smells it.

Wait, is this blood. Golems are not the smartest servants around, wonder if they got the bottles mixed up.

Jack falls down on the ground, grabbing his throat, gasping for air. He then sits up and stares into space.

No, that wasn't blood, must have had some enchantment on it... it...it tasted of death.

Emily examines the bottle again. She dabs a bit on a finger and tastes it. She spits it out afterwards and looks upset.

Weird, but it doesn't surprise me she has enchantments on her bottles and such. I just wonder if this was intentional or a golem's error. It certainly isn't strong enough to kill any of us, unless we drank enough of it.

3 more golems enter, and quickly grab and smash the golem with food to pieces. One turns to the group and speaks in Salipsa's voice.

I apologize, not every creation of mine comes out right. Some are defective or go rogue after a while, and end up needing to be destroyed. This golem was clearly a defective one, giving you a bottle of wine it wasn't meant to give.

Jack slumps against the wall

I saw...oh so many things, it was interesting. It all felt like days, yet it was a few seconds...

Jack looks up.

What was it?

The golem looks at the bottle. Salipsa responds.

It was a wine enchanted with a pretty strong hallicunation, your just lucky it wasn't skribbane wine. That would have been very bad for you. You will be fine, a bit loopy but it will wear off in a day or 2. I can give you a potion to help you recover now if you want, but its up to you.

Jack shakes his head.

I doubt I'll recover from that completely, I saw God, heaven, hell, strange sea creatures, I saw visions of meself dying in horrific ways, I felt death, I tasted it, and I bloody smelled it.

Salipsa laughs.

Oh please, i could whip up a potion that would make you forget all of that. Still, that is quite the halluicination you saw. Maybe this wasn't a wine you drank after all.

A few minutes go by until Salipsa enters the room and checks the bottle herself. She laughs quite loudly.

No bloody wonder you went through all that. This is a potion not wine. Its a rather strong one, called the balm of life. Its meant to be used on a corpse combined with a spell to raise the dead. I used to wonder what would happen if someone living drank it, and now I know. Hey Emily, if he dies later try out the spell that goes with it and see if he comes back. I'm rather curious if it still works. Ill teach it to you later.

Emily quickly agrees.

Mind telling me how to make the potion too?

Salipsa nods.

Sure for a price.

Jack raises his finger in the air.

I'm not dying today! I know a lot more than I used to about things than I did before, I will not be giving that up. Also, if I do die, do NOT raise me from the dead, at least not with magic.

How do you raise the dead without magic?
God is dead. Long live the machine.
