The reason for my stay in the game... I simply love the game. It was of course, confusing at start, but Haron, Accountant, Maha and Soh helped me out early on, got me set up, right? Then, I was amazed by the community.

The community is different. Most places, it's highly toxic, and not even supportive, like it is here. The playerbase is simply an amazing group!

Must say, some former members of MERC have been lovely too, and the relations I've had with people like Garrett, Dman, xPro (I think these are gone now) and a few others also made me feel more valuable. PG is one of the few places where I feel accepted. Out of very few.

The game forces me to think! It's not like s game of chess against my classmates. This is actually more challenging than that.

Also had some friendly chatter with Shadowood, And Charles (from who, I recently received what I think is my first compliment from an outside MERC player - Beside Natsu)

The community for me easily, and the fact that this game isn't pay to win. In so many free online multiplayer games, poor saps like me have no chance in so many of them. And i have played QUITE a few online games, and it is quite infuriating to know that no matter how much time, effort and thought you put into a game, some guy with more money then you can just drop a few Benjamins, log in for half an hour, and pass you without so much as a ounce of effort.

I stayed because of the conflict I was involved in my first few days. Even though I was just a pawn in the scheme of things the excitement of spying on nations and deceiving guilds was a lot of fun. Though sometimes the game has hit rough patches, like when I have quit due to being cleared out by other players or because the game was stale for too long.
PM me any complaints (10M gold coin wire fee is mandatory).

When I first registered I thought this seemed like a boring game, so I left after only a few minutes. Then, 2-3 months later I was bored one night, so I figured I'd give it another chance. When I logged on again I had received an invitation to join Merc, and after getting to know the guys and Learning about the game, I was hooked, BIG time.
I usually tire of games after a few months, but I plan on staying here for a long time :P

I stayed here mostly because of forums and the game keeps evolving, you don't know who going to be the next powerhouse, or the next Pk or Sir Henry Morgan. I also like the challenge, and events like the fantasy draft to see if I'm good enough to be drafted.

Overall this game is the best text based game I ever played

I'm gonna try to sum up all the replies.

 I stayed for the community (I felt loved/cared by the people I met)
 I liked the interaction with Admins
 I liked the fact the game is not oriented only to pay-players
 I began playing together with people I know in RL
 I liked the piracy theme
 I liked the game mechanics (not necessarily combined with the theme then)
 I liked the forums
 I liked the fact that the game evolves and it's not easy predictable

Really, I cannot agree more. It's not a shameless plug, it is my own truth as well. The same truth I tell to my own friends when I describe PG to them. I really mean it; I have played countless games. I have been part of lots of communities. I managed many communities. I kickstarted several communities. I have managed multiple games. There is nothing like the community here.

It is the quality of the characters that most players have. The avg player characters is miles better than what you may meet at other games.

Back on topic sure, I just wanted to say this. I must add that the community really makes administration work very easy but above all smooth. Thank you

I totally agree.

PG managed to build a game whose comunity grew being much better than ordinary browser games.

Why this happened here in PG? I mean, I have played different games too, and those game community were not so strong. This can't be happened just by luck, it must depend on something in the game.

I have an opinion, but I'd love to listen what other people think.
