Is it really derailing? You formed this based on an attack on Harlock in a thread about decrying witch doctors. He has been known on more than one occasion to have participated in such activity. I personally like to see threads play out if we were having a conversation or to get rp here for a second. If a bunch of us were standing in Prote and Kangaroo got up and made his decree and Harlock chimed in, he would get crucified in similar fashion. Making a hate thread takes away from the enjoyment of watching a thread evolve into something just as it would in reality.

Well if a topic is about complaining about witch doctors and specifically Nelson and Pro, and then it gets to the point where people are just arguing with each other then yes that would be derailment. I really wouldn't mind or care so much for it to happen occasionally, but it honestly seems like whenever natsu makes a post, an insult comes to him a minute later. Then he normally ends up responding, then it starts to just become an argument derailing the topic.

I also like to see topics evolve, but honestly anything involving natsu normally follows the same evolution. He posts something, someone criticizes him-usually about something he did in the past, or how he's a liar etc, then he responds, insults are thrown, and its just getting a bit tiring to see on several different topics. Again, I don't mind stuff like that happening from time to time-but its happening to often lately in my opinion.

Well if SSAA would stop harboring an ongoing war criminal and let the dogs eat then it wouldn't have to always result in mudslinging in the forums. Also if Harlock could even learn to shut his trap for longer than 2 breaths the problem would also go away. Now you are basically saying you are moderating the forums to protect Harlock from getting railed on which I would say is unjust.

I think this is "over moderation" of forums.

I agree with Banger. People in forums reap what they sow and as long as it is related to game activity, past or present, and as long as it stays within the TOS and forum rules, it should be fair game.

In my opinion over moderation would be if I decided to try to force people to post here and remove off topic messages entirely. This is just a suggestion I'm making to post complains and insults here-I've actually haven't used much of my moderation powers at all since becoming one.

And derailment is against forum rules, and while I don't mind it happening from time to time its been happening a bit much lately. Again this thread is just a suggestion for people to get things off their chests and keeping other topics clean. No one is going to be forced to use this, and I won't care if they do post some insults/criticism/trolling in other topics so long as it doesn't start to derail the topic.

So is this on us? Or is it on him for some game actions? Maybe there is a reason he garners such reaction. Is he getting any more the the infamous Pirate Roberts got when he went rogue? To this day he still garners some hatred and comments for it and that was quite awhile further back in the history of Avonmora than Suzy Q.

I have tried to remain out of it since my agreement with Phoenix, but some things are earned and take quite a bit longer than a few weeks to get sorted out.

If you start moderating these types of comments out of the forums, the forums will die. Half of my enjoyment in this game are the forum threads. The evolution of the threads, and I admit to enjoying trolling certain people from time to time.

Don't ruin this part of the game by making such things off limits.

Mate, i couldnt care less if you or anyone else wants to rail on Harlock, i just want you all to do so in a topic made for it instead of on topics where its discussing something else. I agree-he needs to learn to think a bit more before posting things, and he can be a bit of a loudmouth, and both you and anyone else are more then welcome to give him a tongou lashing if you want, i mean hell i literally just made this entire thread for people to complain, insult and mock whoever or whatever they dislike or hate. if i didn't want him getting railed on why would i make this topic in the first place?

I just think taking away from threads playing out and becoming legendary in there own right by trying to compartmentalize is foolish. It wasn't like we derailed a suggestion thread. The thread was literally titled "Heads up" and required zero response. The fact that the community used it as a "hear! hear!" should be embraced as this is how it would have played out in reality.
