new plunder rules

Postby Roileon » Sat Jun 29, 2013 9:25 pm

So here are the current rules that we've agreed on
Attacking someone on the plunder board = ok, it's your fault you have danger
Putting someone on the plunder board by casting voodoo = not okay

I suggest that we change this to allow a new clause where:
If your on the plunder board, some is allowed to cast Disfavor on you. It is your fault for having danger, they should be able to take advantage of this. That is the purpose of the card right? I'd like to hear everyone's opinions here.

It would be a good idea for the attacker not the defender. But i like the idea still.

Things to discuss
1) Third party voodoo ( paid casters ) Should they be persecuted or respected?
2) Phishing voodoo ( ahead of time ) Should they be punished severely or is voodoo cast accepted as ok?
3) Admins use of voodoo on non casters suggests that the old rules are out and that attackers should be responded to more fiercely.
As far as disfavor goes, it should be used more. It is because that it didn't work for so long, everyone gave up on it. Most likely it will be repelled by a Countercurse anyways.

1)the current player rules says you should, if someone cast vooodoo on you, you attack them back, mercenary or not. Being a mercenary doesn't protect you from retaliation, that doesn't make any sense why not.
2)Phishing voodoo is not hostile so you don't have a good reason to punish a person for casting it. If after that they use hostile voodoo, then that gives you the right to attack back right?
3)Different forum.
-Confuse doesn't repel curses.

Definition of Hostile Voodoo Card:
A Hostile Voodoo card is a card where, when you go to cast the card, one of the options is to open your enemies list, for the target.

Sorry about the Confuse reference. More of a Mindbar or Countercurse . You think these are your rules. They are the games arbitrary rules. However I was serious about the 3) one. And it will get to that point by your incessant actions :) Things need to change as you have too much of an advantage at this point as a spy/collusion expert. Is why I bring up 1) and 2). Don't be shy Pirates. Tell us how you really feel. Traders you can say something if you want too....\
I have the right to attack when ever I want. Your rationalized ideas don't work with serious pirates.
I think we all know your opinion. Let some others have a say before you 'spin' the words

IMO, the only realistic approach for any ruling, is to write them up to description. The most you could hope for, is for each guild to set their own Rules of Engagement (RoE). Then the members should follow/enforce their own guild rules. It could become interesting as long as rules set are few and straightforward.

This general topic will not do for many reasons. Simply put, you cannot have one global player rule list set by a few players and believe that it has any actual worth. It's rubbish.

I don't think these are my rules. These are things that a while back a bunch of players came to conclude on in some forum.

What do you mean by my "incessant actions" :?:
Lefty wrote:Things need to change as you have too much of an advantage at this point as a spy/collusion expert.

Again what are you saying here? I don't see it having to do anything of the point other than you just using this to criticize or insult me

Again :?:

Before I 'spin' the words, what are you talking about dude, again, all I see here is you insulting me where there is no harm and I don't see the point. If you want to insult me, make a forum for it instead of doing it in a forum where I'm trying to do something good.

I should rephrase this, this is a call to guilds in the format of a forum for open discussion. What should happen is everyone, come to a general agreement that this is or isn't okay as was done when it comes to completely obliterating newbs. Every guild came to a general conclusion that if you attack someone on the pb then it is okay. So guilds started to all enforced these things. I'm not trying to be one player, who makes rules that I would expect all to follow, that is "rubbish." "the members should follow/enforce their own guild rules. It could become interesting as long as rules set are few and straightforward." That's the point of this forum is to start an open discussion about this.

The use of quotes is abused here. :!: I have my opinion, and it is that you have manipulated the rules of plunder to your advantage. Congratulations, well done. I hold no grudge there. Since you opened a topic, I have used it to bring about some ideas that need discussing, because the old /established set of arbitrary ( not game ) rules is antiquated and needs a change to support the play of todays game. Please don't take this as a personal attack, but more of a communication to those that shy away from expressing there opinion due to fear of your unwanted attention. You seem to think your propaganda is fine, but mine is not. lol. My voice is true. Yours has issues with trust in the past and present. Take that anyway you want, its just my opinion. And there are no voodoo cards yet that apply to opinion, heh heh. But I got a couple in mind
