My thought was your 2nd had to be in same guild
2nd would carry a flag or some sort of notifier that states who the account main is

I wouldn’t want this to be secretive and abusive

I understand. I would agree with one as a peaceful trader and 1 as an aggro retaliation acc

I only once made a second account that was to create a few video's over the game (there really bad) but I found it to be completely weird even to just have the second account for recording a few video's in fast succession and then mailing the devs to have it deleted or whatever they wanted to do with it. ( I did get permission)

Lots of games allow multiboxing.... Personally I think it is the most despicable way of cheating in any game...

Even if its allowed, whats to prevent someone from manipulating either character? Thats the problem... It opens up a pandora's box of potential issues.

Not a fan and advocate permanent bans for anyone whom indulges.

Picking the pirate or the trading path is a choice, to choose both would make the game boring pretty quickly

I play another pirate game basically imagine this game coverted to an mmo with graphics. It allows multiple accounts as that is really the only way to effectively do the economy in that game. It really has no detriment to the game as most of the accounts are free traders and have no bearing on the combat element of the game. You couldn't dual box a second to on in pvp or port battles without winding up on the sea bed anyways (which is EXPENSIVE). There are certainly effective ways to make it work, I see it everyday in my other game.

If a Second Account was a thing, would you use it?
Totally not. I would consider even better leaving the game.

What are the problems with allowing this in this style of game?
Milking, pushing, are these words enough? The "big" account of someone would always do this to the "little" one of someone else.

Wouldn't this potential Double the active player base?
Sure it wouldn't. It woult be the last breath of a walking dead game. As happened with many online games of another game producer.

I'm very much interested in hearing what CJ thinks about it.

On a side note: letting someone leaving the game sure doesn't help the game in the long term. On the contrary that kills it.

I concur, Dejanira - the way Pirates Glory is designed, double accounts would not encourage different play styles, but a means to "feed" one account, ie, milking.

The game would change from "what you have" instead of "who you are." No need for a Fantasy Draft anymore.

It is extremely easy to send gold coin, credits and all resources you desire to any account you want. But that's a good thing....

If double accounts are used, it will destroy the true treasure and pleasure of PG - the social interaction. No need to chat with another to develop a gambit or course of action - one would simply tap the second account instead.

The social element of PG would die.

The true character of the success of PG is the single account. It is not how many ships one has, how much wealth one has or even how much power one has - it is what you do with the one account you do have, and who you are as seen through that one account.

It is who you are and what you do thru one persona that provides the true experience of PG.

Want to trade? Want to Plunder? Then take what you have, make a plan and go do it - there's many a bloke about who be willing to join your adventure.. .

Let me know your thoughts on this. I could go either way, but I must say I would love to have a second account. Just to be able to enjoy multiple styles of play.

1) If a Second Account was a thing, would you use it? :You would almost be forced to use it as a feeder in order to keep up with others.

2)What are the problems with allowing this in this style of game? It takes away the one reason I truly love this game.(eplanation below.)

3)Wouldn't this potential Double the active player base?Actually, I think it would cut the player base in half. Half as many players
each having multiple accounts. Larger, more established players could afford to quickly build, and fund, a second account. This would put newer players even further behind.

It has been stated here by others, a second account would more than likely simply serve as a feeder account. It would take away the strategy. It would render some of the current game mechanics as useless. I have seen multiple account players ruin great browser games. As far as strategy goes, having multiple accounts takes away the "action/retaliation" aspect.

As far as what I could see, a second account to focus on a voodoo chest stocked with self sacrifices and geno cards. Or maybe a second account becoming the witch doctor for a primary account. Some complain about witch doctors now, imagine how it could be multiplied with allowing multiple accounts.

Since my previous comment, I gave this serious consideration. A second account, would serve little purpose, except for various forms of milking and danger manipulation, taking advantage of a dual turn set, gift card set and extra set of cheap officers.

It would be nice for experimenting with setups, while your main account runs, but this could lead to all sorts of issues, unless the restrictions were so great it was essentially one account anyway.

Perhaphs controlling multiple charaters under you own account might be something. Each who have different functions that do not overlap. So you would be the main character, and you have lesser characters you access for various purposes. I dont know if this would add much to the game though, unless you characters gained experience and leveled up and had assignable attributes.

Something like
Fleet commanders
Shipping director
Political advisor.

You would use these characters to gain advantage in their areas if specialty.

So as a shipping director gains experience he might.
Gain attributes. Assigned similar to ships.
Best routes - faster travel
Evade - better chance to avoid skirmish
Negotiate - chance to reduce cargo loss or ransom cost.

Might be able to take on a shipping director for each port.
Perhaps shipping directors could contact other shipping directors for intel.

Fleet comander would yeild combat advantages,
Polictical advisor would yeild nation benefits

Or alternately perhaphs chatacters that ran businesses on your hehalf. That you interact with main chacracters with.

Bar keep
Smith
Inkeeper
