Jack looks at him.

Aye, probably.

Ellen says in a cold, dark voice.

Oh they are going to go through so much more then just death. By the time it comes for them it will be a blessing.

Ellen then calms down once more.

Perhaps, after this meeting you would care to join us in hunting them? These men burned down my orphanage for no reason other then spite, so I intend to make them pay. Up to you if you wish to join in.

No plans for today, so yes to that
God is dead. Long live the machine.

Jack turns to ellen and whispers this in her ear.

May I remind you that vengeance is the Lord's alone.

Ellen whispers back.

And may I remind you, some of my children could have DIED. And it is the duty of a proper mother to care and protect her children. So long as these men roam free they could endanger more children. CHILDREN who are innocents in the eyes of our loving father. And as the scriptures says-tis better to tie a millstone to thy neck and toss it into the sea then to harm an innocent. I will have NO mercy for men such as them, and I WILL make an example of them-that those who would harm my children or ANY children will suffer. Our lord is a loving lord Jack, but he is also a vengeful god as well. I know without a shadow of a doubt that he would approve of how I intend to deal with these men. And if I am wrong I will beg his forgiveness when I meet him. Until then I will do what I think is best for the children.

Jack coughs and reaches into his pocket and takes out a small, leather bound book with a latin title, but then he puts it in his coat.

Torture is unacceptable. Hanging should be sufficient.

Ellen smirks at Jack's words. It is a very sinister almost sadistic smirk-if one didn't know better they would think they were looking at Emily instead of Ellen..

No worries Jack. You see, I have been thinking VERY hard on what to do with these men and the fate I have planned for them doesn't involve torture and it will be a suitable punishment-going to be poetic justice.

Fine. But If I don't like it, I will not help you enforce it.

Ellen laughs as she drinks more rum.

Jack when it comes to protecting my children there isn't a force in the universe aside from the lord himself who can stop me. But rest assured, what I have planned is a very poetic punishment.

Ellen shouts to Burt.

Give my 5 large glass bottles of your strongest liquor. I am going to need more to drink later.

A bar maid comes by and hands Ellen 5 large glass bottles of very powerful vodka. Ellen stows them in a bag filled with cloth. after taking a sip of one of them

This will really hit the spot later.

Jack himself orders a beer, knowing that having a strong drink is most likely not a good idea to drink a lot due to the fact if he's meeting who he thinks, he may be not completely himself.
