Role-Play: The Blockade of Regis

[William one eye]

Will has cut his hair short, he covers it with a carefully folded red bandana to hide the fact that he cut it himself and the look is a bit rustic. He shaves neatly leaving only a thin line mustache above his lip coming to sharp points at the ends and a small neatly trimmed goatee only on the tip of his chin. Will selects a fine linen shirt with ruffled breast, and flared cuffs. Black breeches, and a simple black doubblet. And a brown canvas frock coat. He grabs a new black tricorn hat and a brown pair of tall leather boots. He cleans his eye patch and polishes the gemstones that adorn the center of it, that had been hidden by dirt for so long. He heads to the study.

Ellen begin walking towards the governors mansion, with Jack right behind and 5 of her crew behind him. They eventually arrive at the mansion, and are greeted by the Governors butler. The governor and his family arrives, and Ellen steps forth, gives a short bow, and says. "Greetings Governor Reginald, this is my friend Admiral Peter Thompson, of the United States Navy, and his escorts. He is here on a diplomatic mission, and wished to speak with you and your lovely wife. While you all get acquainted, I shall take the children into the study and begin teaching them the word of the Lord. I am still looking for a proper teacher for them, but I believe I am getting close to finding one. Ellen quickly leaves with the children into a nearby study, while the Governor Reginald and his wife take a seat in the parlor to speak with Jack. The governor looks at him, and feels he has seen him before. I say you look familiar, have we met before? Also I do not recall hearing an American ship entered the port, how exactly did you arrive in our port without the blockade noticing. The Governor continues staring intently at Jack-Positive he has seen this face before, and finding it odd that an admiral arrived without him getting word of it ahead of time.

Jack looks at the governer and smiles. I actually arrived several weeks ago, but what unable to visit you due to the fact that I was sick with scurvy. I actually got permission to go on this mission while I was, ah, indisposed. I had come here just to get some supplies. We were searching for the pirate Jack Teach, we previously ignored his activity, or even supported it. But we became tired of his piracy, so we chased him down, but he is damned hard to catch. So, I have come here to ask for your assistance. I have heard you caught him, is it true?

The Governor smiles proudly. As a matter of fact, yes the wretched man is currently in the dungeon. Why it was Sister Ellen who brought him in. Along with William One-Eye. She was truly blessed to have such luck in catching them, and that the scoundrel Jack didn't catch her instead-wretched as he is I wouldn't put it past the scum to do something sinister even to a sister of the faith. The butler comes in and pours everyone some rum, while the governor thinks for a moment. Would you like to see the man? He actually escaped for a brief time-apparently the guards were quite lazy and incompetent, though Jack wasn't much smarter, found passed out drunk nearby, along with William. We put the 2 back in the cell, tied with ropes and chains, with a entire platoon watching them now. The governor laughs. The 2 fools are constantly yelling we got the wrong men, and that they are just drunkards who resemble them. I know pirates are not the smartest bunch but I though jack would at least be smart enough to come up with a better lie. Say how exactly do you know Sister Ellen anyway? I do not recall her mentioning you before, and where exactly are you currently staying.

Mr White stands with his back to the door, he looks out the window that faces the gardens. Have a drink Mr. Pordobel. Will is quite surprised as he has not heard someone speak his surname in years. Will walks over to a burl veneer side table with crystal decanters. He selects the bottle with a silver chain and a silver tag embossed scotch. He pours a glass, and takes a sip.

Im impressed, this is not the local swill, this is from scotland, the taste of peate is strong, it is mellow and has a smoky flavor. A fine scotch of Isley.

I know we have met before, Says mr. White, but do you know I am? I mean who i really am. Do you know why I have asked you here?

Jack smiles. I'd rather not see the man. He's extremely dangerous and cunning, don't underestimate him. I know sister Ellen after meeting her in a Catholic Church in seaglory, she's not part of that faith but she was just visiting it. She's extremely smart and good young woman. I'm currently staying on board my ship in the harbor. When is he being hanged? I heard the king is coming to watch.

The governor takes a drink of his rum-it was from a cask of Sir Henry's not the best of the line, but certainly better then the common stuff. He looks out the window towards the town square. "He will be hanged at the town square- in 2 days time. The king arrives tomorrow, will spend the day meeting the locals while under heavy guard, meet the children at the Panselo Orphanage and thank Sister Ellen for her deed, then end the day at my mansion. The next morning Jack will be hanged. We are unsure of what to do with One-Eye though. King needs to think that over. I believe Sister Ellen was asked if she wished to read Jack his last rights, though she stated she had to think it over."
The governor continues looking at Jack. "I don't believe you answered my earlier question, but have we met before, I feel like I have seen you somewhere. But for the life of me I can not place it." His wife, the governess looks closer at Jack as well. After a moment, she speaks up. "Doesn't he sort of look like Captain Jack-just with different hair?" The Governor snaps his finger and yells "That's who he reminded me of. You could be the mans brother" The Governor laughed. "Wouldn't surprise me, think I heard a rumor his mother worked at the local Brothel."
Quietly his wife whispers as low as possible into his ear Honey, what if this is Jack-he might kill you for speaking Ill of him and his mother. The governor laughs even harder as he is starting to get drunk You silly woman, this man can't be Jack, he is currently locked in the dungeon, and even if he were, I could whip that lowlife 6 ways to Sunday, til he begged for mercy. I mean for christs sake the man lost a fight to a bloody Nun- I mean sure sister Ellen is a clever and resourceful woman, but to lose a fight to a woman of her size, the tales of Jack were obviously exaggerated. The governor continues to laugh and drink as he goes on to berate Jack.

Jack stands up and angrily bangs his fist on the table, he yells in an angry but posh sort of way. My good sir, to insult a man's mother, even that of a pirate, is a serious injustice. My mother was a respectable noblewoman, not a prostitute. Secondly, he was taken by navy sailors, not the nun, and I'm sure my good sir, he could kill a hundred of you. He is my brother, my twin brother, and if you insulted my mother, I must ask you to apalogize or there will be blood! Thirdly, he is America's premier catholic pirate, as I am america's supreme catholic admiral, I'm sure my brother would like a priest to give him his last rites you fool! Alpologize or face death!

Several of the nearby guards put their hands on their weapons, as do several of Ellen's crew, and eye eachother wearily, but unsure of what to do at the moment. The governor, stands up, and feeling emboldened by the alcohol stares jack in the eye and angrily replies I will say what I damn well please of your supposed brother, and your mother, and your grandmother whenever I damn well want. If you have a problem with that- then we can settle this on the dueling ground tomorrow. Id kill you outside now, but you lucked out that I am too drunk to aim properly. Ellen quickly walks back in, after hearing the commotion she quickly walks over to the 2 men, and quickly tries to defuse the situation. Now come on, I'm sure neither of you meant any offense- probably just the booze talking, no need for any duels that could interrupt the kings visit, and derail any sort of schedule or plans he and other nobility may or may not have. She quickly grabs Jack and begins walking him away, she turns to the governor and quickly says Perhaps after you slept off the rum, we can meet up again and make amends with each other, until then I will see you tomorrow with the king. After leaving the building with Jack and her crew, she looks to Jack. I don't know what happened exactly that set you off, but the last thing we need is a big old duel happening when we are trying to get a hold of the king. Hopefully after he sleeps off the rum he will forget all about today. Ellen quickly begins walking back to the orphanage. I need to go prepare dinner for everyone, Thankfully I got a schedule out of the governors children. We can look it over later. She notices several servants gossiping all about the mansion, she hears them speak of the incident. Great she thinks-by tomorrow half the port will hear about it- and may demand a duel take place. She sees the orphan she sent to tail One-Eyes friend. He tells her where the plantation is. She instructions him to try to get Will to meet with them at the Orphanage first thing tomorrow if possible and to bring his friend.

Jack turns to her. He called me mother a whore. That's what set me off. But your right, having a duel would be folly, besides, vengeance is the Lord's. I learned that the king will be coming tomorrow, he will first meet the locals under heavy guard, he will then meet the children at the orphanage, and then he will go to the mansion. What is the best time to strike then? Oh, and the next morning I am to be hung.
