It's actually not. I can assure you, the majority of the people using that term are radical feminists, if you would look it up then perhaps you would agree. I'm not trying to silence this person, I'm saying that it's a silly term to use because it is generally used to shut down who have different opinions. The reason I'm saying its used only by this certain demographic, is because never history has a normal person used the term "mansplainer" in a good way.

Yes its quite appropriate term -& telling people to hush up is the equivalent of saying "your voice doesnt matter so you need to be quiet" - its a form of trying to silence people

When I was in charm school, they taught us to say " Thanks for your contribution " I'm so glad I attended as I used to say ' Shut your pie hole'
