Not much to be said as far as explanation. This was started by Haron last year. Currently held By Shadowood of VUDU

I have to nominate Shadowood again. His constant input into game changes as well as his desire to get the community engaged make him second to none in this category.

I nominate Pulpop. This may seem a bit strange coming from me, but he has shown the ability to organize and lead. I disagree with his tactics and some of his reasoning, but he is formidable and has influenced the game dramatically in the last year.


You can add that to the "10 credit" bucket.

At some point this year (shortly after I pointed out I was going to pass him) CDV switched from Massive Trader to Massive Attacker. The dude went nuts. I want to say he put on about 12,000 Wins to his already 13,000 he had at the beginning of the year. What is more impressive is I don't think he cast a single Voodoo card to get these wins. He simply waited for others to run up danger and he cleared them all.

The man runs with almost 15,000 ships for crying out loud. Impressive stuff Mr. CDV. My hat is off to you sir.

Just some further fodder at to why I nominted Shadow: he organizes the Fantasy Draft of which two were run this year quite successfully with a ton of prize coin. He also ran a plunder comp and gave away a 60 sotl.

He also ran some very high profile raids this year including stealing a fleet from PhoenixKnight and also stealing a MoW from Stan Rogers. Both of whom are by no means, easy targets.

I would like to nominate Charles Vane. A well known and well respected player by most. He's shown great character by helping people understand the tricks of the trade. Always willing to share information when asked. And feared by quite a few.

This guy has been an inspiration to me ever since Ayes. He has done Piracy, Trading, Pirate Hunting, you name it, he's likely tried it out. He gave me something that near no one else would have possibly have been given the chance...a crew of the finest fighters, knowledge, and a drive to keep going in this game. Hell, he taught me piracy like no one else has. He has shown me the ropes, shown me fighting, and most of all, leadership and loyalty. You have my hat, Vane. I nominate you as the Player of the Year.

There are many great players in this game. In my opinion, though, there is one particular player who deserves this award: PhoenixKnight.

Leading SSAA and St Kitts, Phoenix is dependent on diplomacy. And he is good at it. He keeps his nation together, and makes sure his guildmates don't act too foolish. He manages to steer his nation through lots of potential problems, usually not by fighting, but through dimplomacy and other arrangements. This is advanced play, and he does it very well.

I think PhoenixKnight knows more than most about what is going on in Avonmora. He has eyes and ears in lots of places. He also is wealthier than most, and usually manages to avoid being attacked - again, not through sheer force, but by other means.

I can neither confirm nor deny that I have other, confidential information which gives me further reason to consider PhoenixKnight worthy to be the player of the year.

I nominate 'Dark' Wolfie...few will understand nor comprehend the shadowy manipulations of Wolfie, but he is the silent running current that weaves his thread throughout the happenings of Avonmore. What you see and hear on the surface is not what it appears.

'Dark' Wolfie is truly the 'Dark' horse nomination for Player of the Year.
