Avonmora Annual Awards

This stems from something Haron started last year with the Player of the Year Award. I would like to announce the first annual Avonmora awards.

I have laid out several categories that I think will cover all areas of the Pirates Glory experience. We will have a nomination period of 1 week starting at reset today December 15, 2017 00:00:00 game time and ending on December 22, 2017 at 00:00:00.

Here are the basic rules.

1. Each category can have up to 5 nomination. If more than 5 are submitted "The Committee" will determine the top 5 to go to vote.
2.The committee will be made up of 5 active veterans who have been in game for at least 1 year.(Volunteers needed) I would prefer A diverse group from different guilds and nations.
3. All nomination will be submitted in the appropriate thread and category. I will add a thread for each category before reset today.
4. At the end of the nomination process a voting thread will be set for each category. Voting will be open for 5 days.
5. Each nomination should include a description of the event preferably with some objective evidence, and a brief description and "sales pitch". If the event has a link to a forum topic, please include it as well.

Ok here are the categories.

FORUM

Some of the greatest enjoyment I get from the game comes from the forums. At times hilarious, at times thought provoking, and at others it is a great source for gameplay information. I believe an active forum is one of the reasons PIrates Glory has succeeded when many similar games have failed.

MEME of the year

This award will go to the player that posted the one meme that perfectly summed up the debate/conversation that was going on at that moment. Please provide a link for nomination

Rum and Popcorn

This award goes to the forum war between 2 people or groups that was the
greatest read. It could also go to the best storyteller in all of Avonmora or the author of the greatest commentary to an event. Please provide link for nomination

For the good of the game

-An award to honor the best suggestion which was
approved by admin and implemented.

Player of the Year

This speaks for itself. This will be the second Player of the Year Award. The previous winner was Shadowood of VUDU

Rising Star(rookie of the year)

This award goes to the Rookie that has made the greatest impact on the game in the last year. Must have a "First sailed date of 1570 or later Jan 1 2017

Bold Move of the Year

This can be open for interpretation. But an event
initiated by by a single player that was the most
surprising

I really do not see why not. Nominations are open to all for any category. I am ok with it.

Just over 3 days left for the nomination period. Some great nominations already. It is nice to look back over the last year and see what things are different.

If anyone happens to have a screenshot of what the Avonmora map looked like from around January 1, 2017, it would be interesting to see.
