Its confusingly illogical : but basically, it seems to always be one vote more than you got if its just you voting... leastways, thats how it worked when I was the only one in my nation... I think it calculates that as you could vote with 20 power against your own proposal, it then needs 21 to have hte majority to then pass...

I am not sure about this law but maybe it is possible to abolish it then reintroduce it

that may well be a good way to do it, if it allows you to abolish a law within 30 days of enacting it... never tried it so dont know what conditions are around it..

If the revision is made within 30 days of the previous successful vote for the law, the YES votes for the new vote must surpass the previous YES votes cast. For instance if the original vote was 20 Yes votes, you would need 21 to make a revision within the 30 days. Outside of the 30 days, a simple majority is needed.


That's why it is best to discuss beforehand and arrange votes so that the least amount of votes need to be cast for the vote to succeed. Makes revisions easier to make if within 30 days.
