There is no way of knowing future maybe this game will die in next 6 months a lot of things can happen maybe some people will not play in 2 weeks maybe someone will die and his account will be lost there is a lot of things unknown for the future to be argument in implementing something... And there is always possibility to readjust things for the future improvments but at this state this is not something that will be interessting to any expirienced player who knows how to weigh risk vs gains

Again risk v gain. That is not something I really care about in most things in game play, I do risk assessment and risk mitigation daily in my job. If PG was real life I would agree. But alas, it is not. And as far as "things unknown for the future"..... If that were a concern to developers there would have been no updates or upgrades of any sort to the game from it's initial version.

"at this state this is not something that will be interessting to any expirienced player "........

Again.... just because you see no value does not mean others will not.

+1 :y

Excited for new game features. I will now read it and give some feedback. :D

Obviously that statement is untrue.

yet both SHM and Danik aswell agreed that it is not worth and both are seasoned players.

And attacker losing ships if he loe blockade is also game mechanic oherwse we wouldn't be able to sink ships

You have your opinions we have ours. Yours are all based on a short-sighted "reward me now" attitude. My opinions are based on the possibilities for this to tie into an area of game play that I enjoy. Nation play, diplomacy, and more ship based action.

I do agree with you that as long as voodoo is available things are skewed. That is one reason I do not believe ship loss should be on the table. Voodoo and the inability to control your fleets once the blockade starts.

Remove the voodoo from this and then I agree ship loss could be a possibility.

As I stated before over and over again, eventually tie this into to port populations and influence. Introduce other approved upgrades and suggestions like plantations, contract shipping, Letter of Marque, port related diplomacy. This is just the second step of an entire package CJ has said is in the works.

But I guess we need to listen to you and go back to the way the game was initially released, because no one knows the future, so any upgrades are pointless.

Mine are base don a simple fact : its way easy to think up an idea for anew game feature, how ti will work, what may be achieved, etc, etc... but it has to work in all directions to succeed : a new attack strategy, which is what this is, also need to work when defending : if gains may be made in attack, then gains should be made in defence. Its all very well saying, the defender gets to keep what they already have, minus expenses cos, in real life, if you get attacked you defend whatever the cost : this is a game, players choose to come here. they choose their 'side' : how they wish to play for the reward they gain playing in that way. So, they have to want to come here. Now, the ideal perfect strategy for a pirate game is few powerful pirates and lots of weak, rich, defenceless traders that get plundered daily and never complain. But who the heck would choose to sign up for that role? Not many and so that game would rapidly become equally thin for the pirates, even though its tilted purely in their favor. Its a game, fun must be had by all 'sides' or it fails and provides no fun for any.

de·fend
dəˈfend/Submit
verb
resist an attack made on (someone or something); protect from harm or danger.

at·tack
əˈtak/Submit
verb
make an aggressive or forceful attempt to score a goal or point, or gain or exploit an advantage in a game against an opposing team or player.

For me it comes down to what exactly the two things are. No where in Defend or Defense is any sort of "profit" described. Attacking, well that's exactly what an enemy does when they are looking to gain something.

Attacking should be about profit and gain, Defending needs to be about defending what one has and preventing loss of it. For this I only agree the Defenders need motivation of sorts to keep what they have. If their asset does not note defending then they simply will not.

Back to my point : its not about NEED or MUST defend, of being forced to defend, at whatever cost : its about WHY log in to a game to be defending all the time, risking loss all the time to an opponent who loses nothing at each failed attempt : players, be they attackers or defenders, have to WANT to play those roles : every time you log on. And this feature NEEDS players willing to be the defenders : we can see the reason for the attackers to want it : plunder and gain. Whats the reason for the defenders to want it? None : so they wont play it : where does that leave the game?
Altruism works in games, to a degree, but its a bit much to demand it from defenders, to play for the love of the game, but attackers, why, they must have rewards for their efforts...
As it stands : defenders must pay big expenses to maybe keep what they already have : or they can say bugger it and not bother defending it at all cos it costs the same either way. Which makes for a pretty crap 'big battle' for the attacker.

again using RL fact for argument is not welcome here so that goes for word description aswell...

Wolfie, the forum sheriff has spoken! All bow and succumb to his absolute opinion on the relevance of fact!

You once said I damaged your rep.... you do that all to well on your own :y

Unfortunately for you, that is not only RL fact, but fact in many... many games as well.
