So I've got a question in regards to the peace treaty's and nation missions.

I've heard from several people, that they gained hostility within their own nation after attacking an NPC from a nation they have a peace treaty with.
Which is fair enough, but my question, a nation can still be top of the hostility list with an other nation they have a peace treaty with, depending on how many people are in there and such and such.
So when accepting nation missions to rank up, and the top nation for 5 ranking points happens to be a nation with whom you have a peace treaty, what's going to happen there? You can't rank up? Or won't they show up in the missions due to the peace treaty being in place?

NPC hostility is not enabled yet. If they indeed gained hostility in this way (due to a treaty, not own nation, you still get the basic +10 for attacking a npc of your country) then they should instead tell this time me, here, with details.

The nations lists need to change. Once we do this, we will start counting NPC targets in Hostility law.

Let's see where we currently stand. Here are all the features that we could incorporate at 1.9

Features that need user input (listed by Priority):
-Enemy of the Crown
-Letter of the Marque
-Pacts
-Citizenship Denial Law

Features that are at large crystal clear:
-Some treaty-related mechanics (we will finish them today)
-Governor appointing by King (mandatory before v2.0)
-Rightful King (mandatory before v2.0)

You already requested this. Be patient.
Rest assured that we have read everything in this topic.

Here is the final aggressive voodoo list:
-Ambush
-Antagonize (if undercover fails)
-Assassin
-Blacklist
-Booty Master (if undercover fails)
-Call Leviathan
-Confuse
-Disfavor
-Fugitive from Justice
-Hostile Natives
-Hostile Waters
-Official List of Demands
-Propaganda (if undercover fails)
-Ravage
-Swarm of Worms
-Taxation
-Terrorize
-Thieving Magpie
-Time Spiral
-Vengeance of the Witch Doctor

We removed some obvious choices eventually, only to buff these cards (ie Call the Kraken, Sabotage, Fire Ship).
In general, try to be extra careful with the hostility penalties on voodoo until Letter of the Marque comes to avoid locking your nation citizens from attacking enemies.

The law right now will close on early majority and this can be handy to fix such issues.

A voodoo cast by a Spanish citizen, blocked by a Mindbar is still a hostile act.
Unfortunately right now it does not create a hostility penalty.

This is I believe a bug, not a feature ;)

We are using the same methology as we use in Bounties
Mindbar blocks, Loss of Confusion, Flip a Coin loss and Countercurse block do not count as an aggression.

Or else, there can be exploitation.

Also, some voodoo that were not triggering a hostility penalty when they should (ie Ambush) have been fixed.

CJ I can't find the reference but believe it was intended that should you commence an attack against a player from a nation with whom you have a peace treaty there would be a warning, and then the option to complete the attack, or abandon it.

It's also possible I imagined this, if I didn't it is currently not working, if I did it feels like a good idea, especially if you belong to a nation with multiple treaties in place as most are not constantly checking the diplomacy tab for their nation.

No warning, we just produce a notification after the Hostility penalty.

What we intend to add, is a notification once a Hostility Law is changed. This will be generated as a personal event to those that already have hostility with their own nation.

I have just incurred 20 HP farming NPCs, as I understand it this should not be happening.

If you attack an NPC of your own nation, why should you NOT gain HP?
I don't fear death. I look forward to it with great anticipation. For then I will met God face to face and let him know that I stole his Man of War!!!
