I will not elaborate on who told me this or what it is, all I will say is, I will not be DOUBLING the winners total.

I will however, be awarding a $15 million prize to first place.

Pity. I was considering racing Danik for the BIG prize.

That would be a challenge, Stan!

History lesson : before Gold Bars showed up, Stan and I tussled over the top daily fleet spot for around a year or so.

However, I wont be entering this competition being otherwise distracted at the moment. I would say it eminently possible for a cutter fleet to generate a daily figure of over 36 million : 40 million is not outside the potential range either. Of course, that dont mean the route has been profitable that day... but a 15 million prize would make it so and thus it meets the condition any trader would appreciate : money in the bank!

PS : Yes, I know you can produce much higher figures than my projections with various ways and means of manual interference : my method would sit firmly inside any definition of 'sail and trade', could be started at reset and not interfered with until the next : that's as close as you could get to defining 'sail and trade' in my view.

Alas, its not possible to prove how a total fleet figure was produced so Shadowood is right to limit the prize money.. or his purse could have got a very very very sore bottom!

Aye...sadly I will not be participating either however, the challenge has tweaked my curiosity to what actually could be posted up on the demo board in a 24 hr span using all the 'tricks' available.

As Danik says tho, with GB, getting the most profitable fleet is not the same as putting GC in the bank. Actually, the same thing as before GB, we were banging off 800K plus fleets but the actual profit was less than half the figure the demo board was listing and that didn't factor in the price of voodoo used.

Undoubtedly, using the various tricks known and not-so-known, theoretically one could push the figure up past the billion mark : the turns limitations do kick in though but prepped right. pre-loaded with appropriate voodoo, stocks and with some support from pals.. its achievable for the ego-boost if not for any profit : actually, a heavy loss is quite likely.

Gold bars minimum price bottoms out at just a little less than half the cost price for a lvl 20 smithy to produce bars. I think 750 GC is port minimum. Using some of the old "tricks" means you could lose your shirt pretty quickly. Purchasing GB and reselling cost 100gc/bar so thats out.
There are some interesting parameters involved now that was not present before GB.
There also are some new strategies that could be employed.

One must use 1 fleet for all transactions to get into contender status. Almost any fleet will do the job in a competition if you are looking to get top slot on the demo board.

I am pretty sure I will win, since my fleet has - 150mill on them, which is even better.
