I mean if someone wants to give every rookie captain a couple million, etc. I think that is cool but the bulk of the purse should go to the winning team and purely based on the blurbs not on who can buy the most votes.

There $358,000,000 that is to be distributed as I see fit.

There is $140,000,000 that have specific distributions tied to them. (of which $20 million DezNuts is paying out himself. I have all other monies)

I will decide on the $358 million and post soon.

I do fear a case of 'prizes for all' is gaining ground : which is nice cos everyone gets a t-shirt, but it does detract from the point, in my view : which is that captainss choose who they want on their team, for their own reasons. Start proscribing that choice and it ends up no choice at all, devalues the whole enterprise and renders it quite meaningless.

I agree that there shouldn't be a monetary prize for all with exception to captains. If CJ does what he did the previous drafts, those drafted will get a game accomplishment recognizing that they were drafted. That should be the extent of the prize for all. My expectations for prizes is the winning team and all the captains should be rewarded. That is how I'm distributing my 20M Contribution. 5M to the winning Captain, 2M to the captain of the 2nd place team, 1M to the other 3 captains, and 1M to each draftee of the winning team.

As for Shadowood's statement, yes those who are in the first 2 rounds are well deserving of being picked, but to say they earned the right to be picked first is poor. That says to me that these players should be and are expected to be picked. That isn't a draft, that's a pick a team consisting of these guys and whoever else you need to fill out the team. What's the point of drafting. That is why I made the suggestion of those that were in the previous draft can't be selected in the first 5 rounds of the next. That leaves 4 rounds (5 if no rookie round), for those that were selected previously to still be picked.

I will have to disagree on this one mate. This is not how Fantasy Drafts work. People will always pick the best of the best. And I will always allow this. I have no issue with changing some other dynamics of the draft, but I am not going to "Give a trophy" to someone who doesn't deserve it. If they want to be a #1 draft pick. They need to do something to change peoples minds over the next 6 months.

Who cares who is picked and who isnt, who cares about prizes? At the end of the day all choices will be voted on and receive prizes. There is no real way to eliminate picks for anyone but in the end choices of Captains will show in the voting poll. So if a Captain is choosing favorites or trying to make a statement of friendships..... great. But if it is a weak team it will show.
I couldn't imagine a draft without BS or SHM (ex HELM so thats why I named them) And others could not see a draft with people they have sided with or fought and respect. It is what it is and since the prize pool is so large I am sure everyone will get a trophy and then we can go back to our normal unfolding dramas lol.
I didn't find it boring there were several dramatic moments, laughter, explanations, arguments and some forehead smacks. And that my fellow Avonmorans is the intended function of the draft.
Now everyone meet me at the tavern and have a cold one on me. :beer

I think all people are saying is, while it seemed like a good idea at the time a different flavor is in order for next time so lets flesh out ideas and all get on the same page for next time so we don't end up with the same flavor again.

Well said and exactly what I was saying.

A slight mis-understanding : when I said 'prizes for all' I wasnt meaning every pick should get a reward : I meant if we keep changing the parameters of the draft we will end up with everyone having been picked eventually : of course, I do doubt if the final version, the Avommora equivalent of 'you can only choose from the fat asthmatic kids with double astigmatisms and no sense of balance' will generate much excitement : but I've got double astigmatisms so.. hey, in with a chance :)
