as a sidenote, for us spectating this event, it would be nice if captains could always spare few words to describe their picks, or to shed some light to deeds they have done. being rather new, there are still some names i do not recognize, and no doubt there will be more. it might also serve as a short lesson of history of avonmora :)

I 2nd that. Always a great learning experience for the new ones coming in! :P

IRCC, the captains provide a summation of their team before voting starts. I find it better that any information about why they made their picks to be left there. Giving away reasons why you are picking players during the draft may allow another Captain insight into how you are picking, potentially allowing them to obtain an advantage by picking someone that they may not think about.

And I was thinking, how the hell they are stealing my picks! :(
No DezNutz, we all have our choices and those guys are all ''golden hits''! We have propositions, rules, constraints... which we have to respect, so, explaining why we chose some player can't change anything. :)

thank you for kind words lana, and for putting your trust in me.

I was thinking the same thing. Of course, my team captain Lana is doing a great job of it. No complaints there. ;)

Didn't think of that, maybe I should stop explaining my picks :D But in all seriousness I rather enjoy explaining why I pick someone, if another player I want gets stolen then it just goes to show my competitors have good taste in teammates :D. Hell several of my higher picks were stolen almost immediately.

And also on a sidenote, even if I knew which players my competitors would pick ahead of time, doesn't mean I would want those players for myself- to steal a player you don't want just to stop a competitor would make it seem like you don't value the player you stole- which in my opinion is a rather bad thing for a captain to do.

Captains,

Don't take my comments as meaning to steal players. What I meant is that by providing analysis of why you chose a particular player, you may give your competition insight into a strategy or accomplishment by a certain group of players that they themselves overlooked. For instance, If I choose a player for reason X, and my competition overlooked that reason for picking players, I wouldn't want them give them ideas on other players. My reasons for choosing a certain player may differ from another players choice in the same player. I may want player A for reason X why you may want player A for reason Y.

I hope that explains my comments. And please understand it is only my opinion on the subject of providing a reason upfront.

I don't think anyone of the Captains should worry about giving away their strategy.

You pick who you pick being frustrated at every planned choice gets scooped up by the guy ahead of you and you have to go with an alternate who will also mimic a style you may want in the end.

You may even be accused of cheating by the guy who chooses behind you because you took his choice.

It's a very intense time for all the captains and they will come out feeling exhausted and looking like they just finished a war.
The most difficult part then is laying open your reason for all of Avonmora to vote. The winner will be the one with the gift of a lawyer's tongue pleading his case among his peers to why they should be voted the best.
And then the campaigning starts and the vote rigging and bribery. Truly to form of the way things go then and now.

Don't worry about giving away your strategy. xD
