Maybe you should all stop whining about compensation and think about the damage that has been done to the UK as well.

I couldn't have said it better myself. The UK has cost me massively! And for what? just so I can sit there on a poxy throne? The effort I, and Vane, and all the rest of the crew, not forgetting Hector who was my personal aid and confidante who has now left due to all this needless conflict. Don't anyone have the audacity to come asking for compensation for losses. Those of us in the UK have not gained a rusty penny from struggling to keep the UK. All we have tried to do is maintain what took the biggest effort I personally have ever made for anything. What's wrong with the person, or people who have took it upon themselves to trash what we gained over a much longer period than it's taken to destroy?
I have hit, nor harmed anyone here, neither have I had a hand in anything Charlie Vane has done to others.

The same could be said about Montenegro, but I spent a lot of money on it! In fact I spent over 500,000,000 gold coins for Influence, Voodoo and other things. (Of course, I was not the only one who spend a fair bit amount of money; I had some nice folk that also contributed towards Montenegro). But you do not see me, coming to the forums to try to get people to feel sorry for me. I once had 850,000,000 Influence in St.Martins; now look at my influence. Where has it gone?

You guys may of spent a lot of money on the ports; no one is saying you didn't. However you did it as an investment, which could and probably has gave you some return. Sometimes in the world of Avonmora, investments go wrong. So the best thing for you guys to do, is to take this on the chin and take it as a lesson - After all it is you guys own doing (Whether its people in your nation, or people you are friends with.)

Its a well known fact - If you want to take out someone you take out the base they are standing on. After that they are standing there, ass hanging out with no more support.

The money you spent to gain a port means no more, or less, than the money spent by the previous owners to gain that port. If you dont bewail their loss, you cant claim pity for your own losses. I have lost track of who has owned St Martins during my time here : each paid out good coin, used valuable voodoo and expended time and effort in trying to keep it : but all turns to dust and even the mightiest of previous owners, such as Barbados, have fallen. Who weeps for their loss?

If good intentions, sweet manners and pretty words bought ports, we would all have one : but they dont : ruthless action, mean and evil deeds and the crudest of financial sledge-hammers win and keep ports. It is what it is : being worthy aint enough.
