CJ,

If a trade route is paused and the fleet is in port, does the fleet show up in two ports or 1?

I also agree that it should have a larger cargo capacity. I think that using the word galleon with this ship implies that this is a large ship capable of carrying quite a bit of cargo in addition to it's guns. If you think about the Spanish galleons that were involved with the silver collection in the Caribbean, these were usually the largest ships out there. Very rarely would you see a war ship sailing about. These were undoubtedly owned by the navy of a nation. Even the treasure galleons of the silver fleet were owned by the Spanish government. A good example of a Portuguese flag galleon would be the Padre Eterno. This was a 144 gun ship with a displacement of 2,000 tons.

This little change is VERY important.

Trade fleets right now, can be armored against pirates by using war ships in the trade fleet itself. However, due to the high cost of these ships and the little cargo war ships have, this option is often overlooked.

Flag galleon seems like the ideal ship to use as an escort. It has 40 cannons, it is a tad fast than large merchantman and it is fairly cheap in comparison to all other big warships. If it had a larger cargo space, it would be a brilliant choice.

People would then have to consider it deeper whether or not they will use it in a warfleet. It is not only the initial fee that counts but also the cargo space. These 30 cargo space difference, it is translated into a big number when we speak about huge fleet counts.

Finally, we will make another ship type very important to the game and this can only be good. Please consider this in the current set of changes.

Hear, Hear!! I agree fully with this great set of changes doesn't it meen that the War Galleon should have slightly higher cargo too.

I Agree! This makes sense considering historically Galleons had large cargo holds and in PG every single big ship has only 60 cargo.

This too! Give the combat ships a slight possibility to be used as trade ship escorts! How about 80-90 cargo for the War Galleon?

Well, if we are going to do all that why not throw a Treasure Galleon in there with a 200 cargo limit or something.

Yeah, a "Treasure Galleon" is definitely missing from the current ship offerings. I think it should be a slow ship (same speed as Large Merchantman) with 130 cargo but very expensive (120,000 base gold). It would provide a way for large traders to spend their gold to improve their trade ships from Large Merchantman.

Flag Galleon Cargo space increase to 100 and War Galleon to 80 then. These changes have been incorporated into this set.
I posted my opinion on the Treasure Galleon idea on the relative thread.

Any more tweak ideas, let us know.
