Long term strategies are not pushed out with this change.. better prep to not over stretch boundaries will be something knew to consider is all.

you are not part of the deal and I am in no liberty to share it with you. I dont see the point either. you can ask SHM, he is in the know and you already know how transparent we are with our customers and business partners.

I would need to speak with my lawyer on this one. But if ADMIN reduces the pop to 210 million, your contract should adjust with it as it was out of yours and TK control. Your new contract is for 200 million.

not going to waste time on litigation. its cheaper to take another venture that pays more in the first place. making the game boring again.

As CJ stated, there is a difference between income and profit.

Income comes from normal game mechanics, profit comes from manipulation of those mechanics.

the bounderies were not stretched, all was done within the limits set by the game. why not maximize your profit like you do with a ship? those are not sailing around at 80% capacity to stay within the bounderies.
using voodoo just before the hour or reset is seeking the bounderies, yet that has become accepted and standarized. (although some still regret that)
All strategies make use of an angle that is either overlooked or undervalued. use the same strategy a few times and it becomes known trick with a prepared counter.
in this case was the imbalance known for a long time and because of that not out of bounds. an angle to use for those with vision.
i agree with pulpop about using the overlooked or underdeveloped. interference while breaking rules is a must, but i hope some sort of script/diplomacy can be worked out that both helps Cpt.Jack and those who love to do the unexpected and show what can be done within the limits of the game.

I agree, but when the unexpected reveals a problem within the mechanics and future, it must be corrected as is done now. The boundaries I speak of only meaning Merc pushed port income to the max, not a bad thing but did stretch it to a point it exposed an imbalance to come that the game developers wish to avoid. Thus bringing to light the need for a fix.

Same thing happened when Kart stretched the boundaries on ships without the equivalent captains.

Hey! Maybe make a holiday in honor of Merc for this, each port receives an influx of immigrants once per year :D.

The final decision is to reduce NPC citizens tax from 10gc to 5gc.

Normalization of population numbers will take place at a later day, probably alongside with the general feature for population.
There are many things connected to population right now (ie, crew, workers, party cards, transport immigrants from fleets, birth rates from build up a port, npc citizens tax etc) and we would rather not decide some numbers in a rush. We will only deal with npc citizens tax for now, which is our main issue.

This will take place soon.

How we will proceed with population, is another discussion you can follow here:
