Sorry Dman, but I don't see how this is negative to newbies. No one is going to use this to attack newbies. If a newbie is getting plundered down this low, the question one needs to ask is why. When you look at the answer, you won't find this suggestion as the reason. No one is going to plunder a newb just to get a chance at a likely small voodoo chest. Newbs make some pretty stupid mistakes that get them blasted.

Furthermore, there are some easy work arounds.

you give right feedback on wrong topic:)

Ah yes, that one damn sentence. Oh well, still no one is going to plunder a newb down to nothing to prevent them from casting voodoo from their likely small voodoo chest.

I had one hit me and lose a ship I sent cash iron golems and advice. Had they hit me again I would have left the port knowing they would learn more in time. But actively hitting them is not my style and I go out of my way to make sure I do not hinder the growth of someone weaker just because I can. There are to many goals to accomplish to pin my profits, goals or anything else on them as a burden. While I am not above hitting them a couple times for a mission or for a warning I do find trying to bully them as a sign of someone with nothing better to do. I guess I am to new and wont have that problem for awhile, in fact I have to much to do to even be here. Adios
simply hitting a fleet that is on the plunderboard is not bullying. it may appear so to new players who don't understand much of the game, but what is and what they perceive to be is not the same.
i cannot imagine a player losing all his ships simply from being on the plunder board. well, i can. he has to ignore 'halt on danger' and have setup short routes for his trade fleets or he must keep extreme low gc on hand while he plunders with all his fleets EVEN while he constantly loses ships in both scenario's. to lose a 5 ship warfleet without hostile voodoo used, a player must have done 45 attacks himself with that fleet while his gc is still to low to protect his tailship.

Oh, please do, Danik! I'd love for you to be a pirate. You belong on the Dark Side!

Anyway. This is a suggestion with several possible implications. I am sure I only see a portion of them now. I think it will only affect very specific situations, though. Like the one Vane mentioned. Will it affect guild wars? I'm not sure. Stealing every last ship from someone is very hard. During the Merc - Ayes war, I think all players had SOME fleets more or less at all times. Could we have taken all ships of one of them, or vice versa? Probably. At a terribly high cost, though. So I think this will more affect specific pirate tactics than guild wars.

It may also affect certain players who do "voodoo only". Not sure it will hurt them much, though, as keeping even a very small amount of fleets and ships will make complete defleeting extremely costly. I'm still undecided, but tilting towards a "maybe" :-)

In other guild wars, players have been de-fleeted. I know of one notable player of seemingly good repute who has been totally wiped out 3 times, another 'famed' individual twice... neither of them were 'newbs' or inexperienced, In the Fox/Mexico war a good half-dozen de-fleets of active players occurred.

So, its not outside the bounds of possibility.

I'd like to bump this : the player vote seems clear enough in favor.

You have one ship : you do nothing but cast nuisance voodoo : I suppose that makes you a 'winner' in your own eyes. For myself, your casts are meaningless : carry on casting 27 curses to get a handful on : but you choose to cast on our guilds new players as well : they dont know you, nor care about your socialisation problems. You troll and derail our guilds recruitment thread with glee. Great stuff : aint you the big man.

Perhaps you want an apology from me ? Okay, here goes : I apologise that your life is so useless and without meaning that trolling and spamming is all that is left to you. Compensation perhaps? I'd be happy to send one bent and rusty penny to the bank of your choosing.

Meanwhile, if proposals like the above go some way to ruining your day : I'm going to support them.

Now, back in your cage and start throwing your own dung around once more. people will think you are magnificent in your rage.
