An example : if I maximise all my routes every 3 days I may well earn a few more coins : but may not wish to spend the time finessing fleets and run times, losing trade during the switch over period as fleets are re-tasked and sent elsewhere, and so on : I may prefer to just leave them earning their daily coin with minimum management required. That's what I mean by merchants are not all equal : quite a few just want a decent daily income to finance other ventures, perhaps port and nation matters : trade is a tool for that, not an end in itself.
Worthy of Repeating.
Sorry Maha, but Danik didn't just hit the nail on the head, he drove it completely through the board.
Not everyone has the same goals or needs. Not everyone wants to be on the top 10 ship count, have a fleet that makes the most gc in a day, or even build up super quick. There are numerous players that like to "stay off the radar". Their routes are different, their ship counts are different, but they earn the gold coin they earn to pay for the advances they want in the time frame they want. They play the game for their benefit, whatever that may be.
As Danik said, if you think this is boring, become a pirate or don't and just attack players. Create the action that you are in so need of, if this is dull. If you can't think of how to create excitement out of a game that already allows you to play in numerous ways, you aren't looking.
