I don't think bombing an airbase was an appropriate response.

What would have been appropriate then. Remember Russian troops nearby.

If it is the US job to intervene on behalf of a human populous; there is a lot better areas to do such than to provoke a war with Russia.

A humanitarian backlash to the Assad government is ridiculous. Assad a terrible dictator that did help form the creation of ISIS. But, he as well is disliked because of him being a Shia in a Sunni majority state.

All I have to ask is that haven't we done enough to destabilizing the Middle East? To come in again. Who says the next regime will prosper or act differently. Radical Sunnis are winning in Syria. We can overthrow Assad and leave, but they will continue their fight.

so what do you think we should do leave them be and continue letting them gas there own populations causing farther instability in the middle east causing more and more people to move away from the middle east and cause other governments to topple or have mass campaigns to have sharia law put in place in majority white and non Muslim countries.

Please negate from using fear tactics such a the collapse of countries and sharia law. Such reminds me of the older Americans who joined the KKK during the age of immigration because they feared immigrants spreading communism (KKK had 4 million members during this time). None such has occurred. There will be Muslims who preach it and preach it they shall unsuccessfully.

All I am saying is that if we come in just to dispose Assad. Who says it will get any better? Okay we get rid of Assad. Sure. A Sunni government overtakes and eventually they radicalize and start a genocide versus the Shia. Like they currently are right now. Is that any better? We are all far getting rid of Assad but none for holding the hand of the next regime.

As of now. There is an internal battle in Islam. Sunni vs Shia. The Syrians want a Sunni government. But sadly their form has radicalized. We are between giving what is best for the future or what is best for the people. Its a hard pill to swallow.

Hmmmm have you looked at a map of the war in syria there is a rebel group that has set up a democratic government this is fighting both the Assad government and isis. The United States sells arms to the rebel group but will not sell to isis and Assad. You should also take note that the rebel government is not receiving aid to fighting from the United States other then the arms that it is buying from us and the hundred or so us trainers that are there to teach the "rebels" how to use the guns they buy from the United States.

Innocent people were targeted by Assad with Sarin gas.

Yes there are places around the world in more turmoil, but none of these used Sarin gas against innocent civilians.

Does the US have a responsibility as policeman of the world? That question is one that the world must answer. But would you rather have the US stay out and allow continued use of chemical weapons?

I personally do not like the fact that the US has to get involved in the matters of other nations. It never ends well for anyone.

Suni, salfist wahibist sufi Shia Alawite Yazidi...... does any of that really make a differenece to a bomb loaded with Sarin gas?

Sure. We have a few minor moderate Sunnis fighting against radical Sunnis and Shia. But they don't have the civilian backing.

As well. regardless if its gas bayonet or bullet. All are there to kill. Just because one uses another method than another should not mean we switch the importance. Casualties and rate is how I look at it.

if we continue to let people do stuff that violates things that the united states and other nations has laid out as something that is illegal in the name of international law and if we do not enforce those laws then more will break them. currently I can name a few nations that are doing stuff that has been laid out by multiple nations as being some thing that the usa and other nations will not let happen and then we let it happen it makes the usa look weak and we are definitely not weak.

Assad pushed it too far the first time they did this and the obama administration did nothing about it maybe the trump administration will bring nations up and withhold our responsibilities as the worlds richest and most powerful nation.
