This simple.

To add to my arguments, I have been playing long before damage cards. We had 40 SoLs back then. It was worth fighting till the end for the fleet of the opponent, because it contained at least 20 SoLs. Now, what you see is 1 SoL, 2 SoLs. It hardly worths the effort. What if there were 20 SoLs though?

These numbers were the casual numbers. Then damage cards came. But damage cards are nice. It is their combo with Booty Master that makes things uneven.

Why have MoWs and SoLs when a single cutter can do the job?
I remember the pirates before the damage cards, were sailing with 40-60 level 10 SoLs. Now, they sail with 1 cutter lvl 10.

I read of plans, solutions. But this simple thing is not mentioned by anyone. I believe that there are more players with me. They just are not accustomed to post. Perhaps it's a good time to get some broader feedback.

I agree with Black Sparrow (even though i wasn't around back then).

I am not a fan of the good old days. I feel the game has progressed and it has progressed really well. I only want it to progress more. So, you are wrong, this is no nostalgia.

I am pointing out what happened before and why it is not happening any more, in my humble opinion.

I also pointing out what needs to be done, before everything, again in my humble opinion. It is up to everyone to call my arguments valid or not and help administration to create a heading.

Truth be told, I have not seen the game devs more puzzled than they are now on where the next heading is.

The art has changed because people have adapted their strategy. To now remove their strategy removes the practice.

yep adding the damage voodoo caused quite a bit of chaos if it was limited and so was booty master (only to an extent) then sotl's and mow's would be on the rise im personally not increasing my fleet size at least in sotl's and other large fighting vessels since there just to easy to be stolen.

if booty masters were to be limited to 15 casts per day on a player you would still steal most of there gold making plunder easier but not instant.
if damage voodoo was limited at the same time down to only being able to damage a ship down to 50% or put a limit of so many casts per day on a player then sotl's and mow's would see a resurgence.

The problem is real. MoWs and SoLs are indeed underused.

I do not know if Black Sparrow nailed it in finding the cause of this. Neither I can tell if limiting Booty Master is going to change this. I can surely tell that this discussion has put me in some thoughts so we are naturally interested for more feedback on this.

Reports that admins have crashed the credits market are only rumors of the traders. True pirates know the truth.

In other news, thieves syndicates protested outside Aiora headquarters, calling bad names on Black Sparrow and his ideas that will put them out of trade. Rumors that Black Sparrow arrested 90 of them remain unconfirmed.

Elsewhere, Mexican stables are now proud of their new Tequila Bar. Several reports mention that Desperado Danik has been sighted there all day and all night long.

Finally, the weather in Avonmora tomorrow is predicted fierce. All ships travelling are in grave danger.

Its not a Booty master problem. Its an over time development of the game. Its due to the pirate of the world needing instant gratification/results without the need to plan, prepare, and participate( and yet they do much of that in microscopic time frames, a conundrum). The pirates always complain about their limited options, they got some game changers approved..and here we are. No self control in the world, only cries of foul foul not fair. Well here we sit with no MoWs to steal. You pirates got what you wanted and overfished AGAIN! Much like the shipwreck hunting feature. Its just the nature of the world we live in. Take what you can, because resources are limited and if you don't take it now...someone else will. Meh, I could just be on a salty ramble...but I believe the truth is in there somewhere :PP

I don't think we should remove ship damaging voodoo, but instead add other reasons to own large size fleets.

Maybe something like.

If 2 sotls are on both ends of your trade route then skirmishes against the trade route are defended against with your sotls.

If we can establish a necessity for SoTLs and MoWs, they will come back.

The only necessity to be established is the value to be stolen. And that's what got us here.....

If you are trying to remove the defleeting option or put it to the point where it is near impossible; I highly disagree. We can instead increase the usefulness of SoTLs within the game.

Make perks to accommodate the owners. Make people want them. If the pay outweighs the risk; there will be owners.

If we are to completely nerf/remove the defleeting option; then we remove a part and play style of the game just to increase some numbers.

And these SoTL and MoW numbers don't worry me. I frankly don't understand why administration or anyone else cares.
