Ideas on how to draw in New Players

Postby Donald Trump » Wed Mar 22, 2017 3:19 pm

A simple idea board on what could be done to make it so more newbies join this game.

So far presented:

Code: Select all
Default starting port is Aiora.

Code: Select all
Less nations, and made up names with made up flags.

Code: Select all
The idea to allow auto-recruitment for newbies to automatically join guilds that allow it (Get into guilds quicker).

Code: Select all
And 500k gold when the player finishes the mission to join a guild (helps grow quicker).

Code: Select all
And a 10mil gold coin cost to create a guild (discourages newbies from making their own).

Code: Select all
And the removal of the power for nations to tax everyone except king extremely high so no one can enter. This closes off nations, and as well hurts newbies!

What does everyone think? Any objections, or amendments or even other ideas?

What's the payout now for completing the tutorial? If you navigate through the beginning quest line, the payout is decent.

If you want guilds to have a cost to create, make it Gold Bars or Credits.

By auto-recruitment do you mean players have the option of "select a random guild" and it puts them in a random guild that has the option selected.

Hm, I mean. 500k not when the entire tutorial is completed, but atleast the really newbie stage (i'd say when they join a guild).

I think the need for gold for noobs could be eliminated by the auto-recruit feature. I was in a guild for all of 4 seconds and had 8-10 generosities dropped on me.

I am with Haron on this one... We need a smaller number of nations. 15-20, perhaps less. (Fictional in names of course, just like Avonmora)

This would create less confusion when joining, more help when joining, more map tension/action, more competition to become duke+, etc...

But we do need to change the starting of the game mechanics a bit.
I don't fear death. I look forward to it with great anticipation. For then I will met God face to face and let him know that I stole his Man of War!!!

Not all guilds do that. And this is to cover those that do not.

Your experience may not be everyone's experience. And that certainty was not mine.

Oh hell no. I have talked about auto recruitment quite a few times. Guilds with auto-recruitment are presented and newbies can pick which one they want to join.

Why would I even suggest such a horrendous thing that the game just joins them into any random guild? It is their choice.

Forgetting to take into account that taxes do not apply to new players that have used less than 1000 turns.

Guess you joined the wrong guild then.

How is that any different than now, other than the game presenting the player with specific guilds to join?

nation choose process can be noble path's mission. default nation could be pirate, like haron said.

increase join a guild mission's reward.

no matter which port they started to play also give ship building materials in wood ports like aiora. because most player choosing without know importance of wood ports. still they can start in another port but can build ships in wood ports aswell no need to feel starting in a wood port as a must. i know a few players just quit after they started to play just because they started in different port.

i will add more. now need to think a bit more on it.

Sincerely Mugiwara..
