He may have said this but the rest of St Kitts are not semi retiring.

We are going to reduce ports owned how we decide. Not by hostile take over

Semi retiring and letting my influence drop is one thing, rolling over and let a hostile takeover happen is another. I am already not adding any influence in any ports. Haven't in a while.

Again nothing personal, but why should St. Kitts decide which new nation should acquire a port. You could simply name 3 ports that you will no longer maintain and let the fledging nations fight for control.

Yes, but is Ireland (mostly just Mack) rolling over St. Kitts, which has some considerable players that are very capable of stopping a single port take over. I just find your reaction to the situation, contradictory to your previous statements.

IMHO, I think this merger of Egypt and IoM just goes to show that there needs to be a change to game mechanics involving nation changes and influence. While St. Kitts is new to the map, those that make up the nation are players that previously controlled the ports under a different nation and held large sums of influence. You shouldn't be able to just swap nations on a whim and cause ports to change just like that.

I love what Mack did, I have done it myself a few times (ask Spain). I love what Valar has done, a few times. Vane as well. Mostly I love what Bigtea, Will, Meliva, chin, myself did about 6-7 months ago. We stepped up, came together and took a port. Then took two. Then worked a deal for the 3rd.

This is why I truely like and respect what Mugi is doing now with Grenada. He has rallied some players together and they are working hard to be a port controlling nation. The United Kingdom have recruited players and have their eyes on a prize.

What needs to happen more in this game is collaboration. Not resitict nation functionality. What Eygpt and IoM did was collaborate on creating something new. And this was awesome!

More players need to have the drive and foresight to come together and collaborate on items like these. If they did the world of Avonmora would be a more exciting place.

Re part one, they are currently our ports, we are choosing to let them go. We are not obligated to do so. They are ours we can do as we please with them. If the Usa wants to give away one of their ports i would not tell you how i think you should do it. If you would like a voice in how St kitts and Nevis controls their ports, you will have to join our nation.

Re part 2
That is how port control is designed, who holds the most influence controls the port. Where they move the port moves. If you dont like it find enough players that agree with you and convince admin to change it. Change mechanics all you want, people will adapt and continue to make political moves you dont like. Moving on, Players are free to join what ever port they wish. If you think its easy to pack up and move to a new nation with people who share your vision, that you however have little expreience working with, i would say you are gravely mistaken. This move took and incredible amount of trust and faith. Trust that those who choose to move, could and would be willing to work together. Trust that those from the other nation would follow through with the move. Trust that those that supported you in the former nation would choose to move with you and continue to offer support. Additionally it was obvious this new project would not suit many that previously supported us and that those you consider friends would part ways and go elsewere or simply remain behind. Faith that these player would find a parth that suited their needs. The mechanics of it is easy, the process is not.

I think they want to sell the ports.

Actually William, there has been several topics on the need to implement changes to the current nation change mechanic with a lot of responses and ideas. Your move, just brings the topic back to the front.

"If you think its easy to pack up and move to a new nation with people who share your vision, that you however have little experience working with, i would say you are gravely mistaken."

I LOL'd at that one. You had discussed and made an agreement before you all moved to St. Kitts. You didn't just say "lets switch nations" and do it right then and there. Sorry to break it to you, but that is not very hard compared to trying to working with people who have completely different plans and goals for a nation, while you aren't a major influence holder. When you want to talk about hard, go experience that and than you can tell me about working with people that hold the same vision.
