Sun Tzu came from the Warring states period in China. There was no such care for "daily living." All of his quotes and rules are about war, because that is what he was born from!
You can't apply his literature to average folk. He is not about average folk. He was an adviser for war in the Wu province. A genius one at that. His entire life was dedicated to war.
Every single chapter is about war. How to advise your men, how to trick the other side, how to approach a city, how to cut supply lines, how to launch an attack, how to ambush, how to handle government, how to handle commanders and generals, how to stop people from defecting, how to higher morale. Anyone who read the book beyond these really vague quotes would see that it is just a rule to war; and a very in depth one indeed. He just jots downs the dos and don'ts.
You can't really say that in a book with the opening being, "If a squad of soldiers are ineffective, do you kill the commandeer, or disband the soldiers" has any type of meaning to average people.
It is best to view the book as a manual than an actual guide to living.
If you do like quotes about war. I highly recommend reading about the Sengoku Jidai period in Japanese history. There are plenty and all of them are extremely interesting.
Just repeat after me: "Czar Ivan did not help me win the elections."
