Phoenix, Banger hit what was lit and the majority (at least 80%) of all attacks were done by myself. Yet Grim hits Banger with 4 levi's on high tier ships? How is that a justified retaliation?

Grims target should have been me not a new player who hit what was lit. And with levi's no less.

Where Phoenix disagrees with both sides, I agree with both sides.

Vane lights up and attacks Grimrock. Fun!

Banger follows up and clears up Guluere. Fine!

Guluere wants to retaliate, but Vane is hard to hit. So he goes after his guildmate, who even participated in the attack. I would probably have done the same.

Vane answers with attacks on Guluere, both in the game and Union of Honor. This is what the Union is for! Again, I'd probably have done the same.

My only problem with this is that these people attack each other directly, thinking that such matters can be handled by anyone. They should of course have hired professionals!

I dislike attacking new players. But, I also dislike people who treat being plundered as some type of decree of war.

I think Vane was justified in attacking Guluere. If he wants to start pulling out cards, he might as well start getting hit by them.

IMO. 15million is way too generous (Guluere should JUMP at this!). I'd set the price to 50mil, but that is just me.

I think Grimm had the right to retaliate, however casting a bunch of Levi's on a player that has been here less than 2 weeks is not cool. Plenty of lesser things could have been cast that would have made a point.

Banger wrote:The flow of how this happened is incorrect. Charles lit Grim, which at the time I was unaware of. I was in a port and saw all of Grims ships on the plunder board (which I have been taught is far game), I cleared the board only to find out that Charles had lit Grim, Grim retaliated at me and cost me substantial gold. I actually have more than 15 million worth of stuff because I chose to invest my hard earned REAL money into this game. I also took out some loans. Yes, I did have some things fall my way but a lot of it was hard effort on my part. I do not feel that Charles is being unreasonable in what we are asking for giving the damage I took.

Regardless of the flow. You invested real money and loans into this, then Charles argument is further unreasonable.

1. You have more advantages that 3 weeks players who did not invest real money, so your build up is stronger.
2. Both of you attacked Grim. Compensate Grim for what he lost or deduct the losses from both ends and let's talk about who owes whom.
3. Grim is known for hard retaliation. Charles being in the same guild should have warned you of that.
4. If you are going for attacking others, then you should be prepared to take losses. That is the essence of the game. It is illogical to attack someone and then demand compensation for damages.

What's all the fuss about?

Lit is hit, but retaliation for excessive hits is not forbidden either, on either side : just learn the lessons, all of you : you cant attack with impunity, no matter how big your friends are : clearing plunder boards, hitting everything lit can be seen as a full onslaught, part of a planned raid, not just ' only hitting whats lit' : new players, heck, all players, should learn to judge what the limit there is : it aint the same for all players : learn that too. Casting Levi's ? Why not, if you feel powerless to act in any other way, voodoo use is legitimate too. Got hit with levi's ? Well, that can happen, learn that too.

Your opponent has a big buddy willing to lash out with almost bullying levels of voodoo? Learn that too, might not be nice, or fair or reasonable ; but folk play by their own rules, not yours.

But most of all : dont call on some notion of justice or reason : aint none of that here. Might makes right, well, it generally tends to walk away with the winnings.

Nah. This happened because someone is bored as hell. No one would be this pissed over 4 levis. So little action you gotta jump at anything.

Not denying any of what Danik just said ;)

Fact is "I" am demanding Grim pay the "15m" to Banger. Those are my rules. Grim can play along or lose / spend much more defending himself over the days to come.

15 mill seems trivial when compared to what he or his friends might need to pay.

I'm pretty upset about it. I already have leveraged myself pretty hard. Then I lose 4 levels to high end ships that are very expensive to re-level. Like I said, he hit me with 2 at first and lit me and plundered the hell out of me, okay I can live with that, but then he did it AGAIN. All because I lowered the level of a few howkers and plundered maybe a million coin for him? That's crazy.

Maybe not having really expensive ships is a solution if you are upset when they lose their levels..

I'm on Vane's side on this though. Guluere had it coming when he started using the cards.

But, some players hit over the most minimal of things. Well, you are lit up. What do you expect? Not to be hit?! Well, that is just plain stupidity. It is called the plunder board for a reason.

If voodoo is the main reason why you are on the plunder board; what are you doing attacking people who are plundering you. The caster is at fault, because HE put you there. The plunderers never put you on the boards; they are just doing what they are use to.
