Ordinary trade is far more beneficial. I collected the ships thinking I could get something good. I did 500 in a week or so. I found a few decent war ships, but everything else was trash. It was all sold and I only made 5mil in a week!

its really about luck. i know some players with less salvage amounts and fleets. they gathered 60 att mows sotls and 20+ att level 1 sotls. my best hunt was 12 att level 1 sotl.

Perhaps for small traders, that's what it's about. Not for big ones, though. I'm surprised, but it seems to me that CDV is the only player who truly have reaped the tremendous potential benefits of this feature. Well done, I say, although I'm surprised others haven't done the same.

one of my guild mates capitalized on the shipwreck and used it to get all the ships he needed without spending much in turns and he had regular trade fleets going around at the same time using that gold to buy captains and he far excelled the regrowth of my own trade after i deleted most of my fleets and had to rebuild them from the stipends that i had and with the loans that i had to pay back.

I only found one worthwhile ship out of 618 finds : but that was not my goal in doing it : I still had the 500ship bonus outstanding so it was a cheap way to achieve that with another income boost from selling them all afterwards : so, all in all, a worthwhile exercise, but without the big bonus, I wouldnt have thought it worth the time and effort.

I suppose success should always be measured by what you wanted to achieve : those who took the opportunity to build up their fleets cheaply, those who took the gamble on finding a high-value ship or two, those who used it to gain ship count bonuses : all succeeded in their own way.
