Confuse 'Trick'?

Postby Admiral Nelson » Sun Feb 12, 2017 8:20 am

Recently, I have been thinking of ways how I can avoid the nasty 60% or 90% Confuse 'ability' ( Whichever one it is)

Which I have came up with this:

What happens, if you cast your offensive cards on the player - Such as HN's and FoJ.

Then when he is 'retaliating' either by knocking on your Mindbar or something, you cast Confuse on yourself? As the max is one active at a time, would this be seen as 'against' the rules or a good strategy? As you can cancel the Confuse yourself. Whilst to remove it; would cost your opponent a additional 7 credits.

Opinions?

Cheat or Strategy?

Personally, I think that is OK. Fair trick. It comes with costs and disadvantages, though, but I agree that in some cases it may be worth it.

I suppose the same could be done with Disfavor, too.

Fun fact: You can block out FoJ by casting them on yourself at the top of the hour.

Spoiler: show
If you think this will do anything else then light your fleets up, you should enjoy getting plundered.

I did the same thing for tax too, to avoid the ridiculous high value of X8.

A while back.

With this trick you can become immune to Chains of Justice. I think it's cheating. What is Captain Jack's ruling?

I suppose there are many hostile cards you could neuter in this way, or at least gain control of when they get cancelled : in the meantime, you do suffer the effects of the cards being active on you.

PS Voodoo Storm?

There were one time where I wanted to cast Chains on Avery so he cant attack me, but someone else already has chains on him, so I thought, "Wa, he paid someone to cast on him so others cannot."

And I was all, he is one smart dude if he really did that.
