I propose to object to the forces moving the game in, what is for me, the wrong direction : I dont have the time to do anything else currently. I dont have the time to argue in depth each and every proposal, to reiterate each and every objection each and every time when most of the time the proposals made are ill-presented, ill-considered and, at times illiterate. At times the proposals can be wonderfully well put, well considered, even brilliant : but they are for an RPG version of Pirates Glory, not the PG as is, or was.
I'll attempt to put my views simply : an RTS rewards patience, thought, planning, skill.. and then you can go kill things : a RPG rewards those who log on, and then you go kill things. and when you cant kill things within 2 minutes of logging on, demand changes to ensure you can.

Danik wrote:Ah, the ceaseless demand for change : I've watched this game change massively over the past few years and most of it has been worth squat : we are under the burden of two opposing forces : one wants more action, more wow, more pow, more fun! : the other wants more depth, more strategy, more variety, more fun!
No game-maker has ever resolved that problem : its why we have categories like RTS and RPG and very, very few crossovers or full blends of those genres : one doesnt allow for the other.
I favor RTS -style games : there are few of them online and the few there are seem to be chasing the market by trying to become RPG's or appeal to those kind of players : worse, the player-base themselves seem to want them to become RPG-style games : they may love Pirates Glory, but still they will destroy it and turn it into every other online RPG to 'save' it.
That may well be the devs wish, it may well be the majority of the players wish : its not mine though, and I dont have to be here to 'enjoy' these changes which do so little to thrill me and so much to irritate me.
You want these suggestions discussed in depth? If I spend 10 minutes on each of the constant stream of them, I waste hours and hours of my online time reading, responding, read the response to the response, responding to that on each and every one of them? There are dozens of them! : I need a full-on database just to keep track of it all : its a game I play, not a fecking wiki I am writing!
You need patience to fully play a good RTS : I'm running out of patience with what is become yet another bog-standard RPG.

I couldn't agree more :y

Why continue with it?

Is Pirates Glory an online collectible card game (sort of Magic the Gathering) mostly alike Urban Rivals with some elements of strategy?
Ot is it more like a sort of Railroad Tycoon set during the pirating golden age, with some elements of magic (represented in game by voodoos)?

There's some clues that the game bears (at least) its cgg soul: it's a fact that someone with lots of cards and no ships can have a very strong impact. While someone with lots of ships and no cards has actually no chances to enjoy the game.
Stay tuned on Radio Image Bermuda!
.
Are you a new player? Contact me in game and I'll cast a helping voodoo. Consider this like a sort of "tutorial mission".

Pirate glory should be a game of ships battles more.

The direction it is heading right now, is a card collecting game, but that is like the only strategy in the game, cast the right voodoo at the right time.

Since most action is done using voodoo, action like bribe becomes a voodoo, for some reason, because, why not?!?

In the RL pirate era, there would be a lot of dealings happening here and there, buying goods is harder, there is more pirates. Bankers are only a selected few that inherited. 1 GC is worth more. Money is harder to get.

Pirates can die, merchants can get assassinated. Pirates can be put in jail, merchants can bankrupt and starve to death.

So, its safe to say, this game can't be like RL so, card collecting game, why not?

I do prefer strategy games more.

I came here because game required some IQ to be played and it didn't lead you by hand. With this it just becomes game for collecting cards and casting, requiring IQ of a chimp...

Legendary cards are just like other cards. Do we agree that voodoo leads to strategy, or does it not?

At curnent state it is bigger card collector wins but still you had a chance to win with strategy and planning with curnent flow that part will be erased it will be bigger collector of legendary cards wins and that who has less loses immediatly ... I wonder how long old and new players will game lose until it is understood that this is just game killer... then when that happens few kf us whom you consider black sheeps will have right to say we told you so...
