i like the cover best, but pirates are notorious braggers.
is it possible that the villain is exposed in due time? (first day 5% chance of exposure, each next day adds 5% to the chance of exposure) this exposure could come under 'global events' or in the soon to be automated herald. e.g. "Maha attacked 3 times on day 2324 under cover of the night"

it would still be valuable to hide during the attack, and not all will link the message to the attack on them. still delayed exposure in some way seems fun to me.

I have edited the poll to reflect the current suggestions.

Maha, I don't like the change to be discovered because it weakens the card so heavily even to have a 5% chance of failure. If a pirate really needs their identity hidden then a 5% chance is not worth it. Especially if they are plundering many times.

I also want to discuss the crafting cost: I like Shadowood's suggestion:
(1) Assassin, (2) Control the Skies (3) Advanced Piracy (1)Hideout
Although I say we should add (1) Pirates Tales and (1) Undercover.

The one issue with I feel with Chin's idea of a time duration of "Anonymous" attacks, is with 600 turns you could hit 100 times and remain anonymous. But what about the DANGER GAIN for those 100 hits. This is why I lean toward a structured amount of hits, that take into account how many Hideouts is takes to help craft. If its 3 hits, 1 hideout, 6 hits 2 hideouts, ETC... You have to stay off the plunder board to stay Anonymous. Hideout is the key to this working.

I do agree with Chin that only 3 hits is not enough to do the damage you want done or to steal a ship anonymously (which would be very cool). You really need it to be more... even more then 6. So I am revising my original thought to the one below. Costs can be negotiable as always.

Name - Cover of Darkness
Turns - 20
Rarity - Legendary
Description - Your next 18 attacks will be anonymous. They will show up on the players report as "Your fleet XYZ (#82XXX) has been attacked in Seaglory by Anonymous". Also in port battles under attacker will be labelled "anonymous". However, it will show regular in guild battle logs. And if you lose the battle, you are revealed and you gain the DR normally. If you win, you gain no fame as you are anonymous. If you lose, you will lose fame regularly.

Takes 72 hours to create
Recipe - (1) Assassin, (1) Pirates Tale (2) Control the Skies (3) Advanced Piracy (6)Hideout
$1,000,000 Gold Coin

The hideout in the recipe is to cancel out your danger for the next 18 attacks.

I wholeheartedly agree with this! Unless it is absolutely, 100% certain that this card will work, it gets very little value. Even then, it will be one of the "least powerful" legendary cards, in my opinion. That will be reflected in cost and crafting time, of course, so the recipe may still be a good one. The "real attacker" should not be displayed ANYWHERE, in my opinion.

I dislike the anonymity element.

the Kracken think it is silly : I would worry more about the Krackens feeling on this one.

I vote YES. But it is important that to remember that "Dead Men Tell No Tales" came before "Cover of Darkness."

I as well think "Dead Men Tell No Tales" is a cooler name.

100% agree that name Dead Men is cooler.... I just think it should go to a cooler voodoo curse then this one is only reason.

When I hear "Dead men tell no tales" for some reason I envision a super strong voodoo.
Like "Sinks" target ship. You receive half of the ships value (excludes MoW of course)
10 Levi
2 Kraken
1 Ambush
120 hours to craft

Something like that. And when ship history comes out and if the boat is salvaged, it will say, "This ship was destroyed by #56585 on this day" :D

Either way, I am up to any name for this Cover of Darkness/Dead Men voodoo.
