The affects of most voodoo are permanent if your cast is successful if you are successful in your actions after you cast.
If I light you up and raid you, I am probably not going to give your ships and gc back. That seems pretty permanent to me.

In the case of most shipwright voodoo - expedition and master craftsmanship work in a similar fashion to this.

That is comparing apples to oranges. One is an effect based on your actions, and another one is based on the game's functions.

well the expedition journey master craftsmanship argument - is apples to apples
You cast, assuming your cast is successful, it does what you want, it is permanent.

for some types of voodoo have a duration, the voodoo's permanence and effectiveness is a function of the caster and recipients actions.
so in that I would agree, we are talking apples to oranges.

Your original statement was rather broad.

Expedition journey can be achieved without voodoo, so not a good comparison.

Master craftsmanship and to some degree Sabotage would be decent comparisons, though. But they can counter each other.

Anyway, I too dislike this idea. Making super ships which are immune to the most relevant voodoo is not a good idea, in my opinion. Neither through voodoo or ship specialisation.
