At current rates of recovery.. it will end up around the 25k mark.. but quite a few ports are coming up empty for the less well-endowed salvage fleets, so the rate may decline... mmm... that looks better for my guess... what shall I spend all that shiny shiny on?

Not at all, Danik. I like that people make profits. Finding good ways to make lots of gold is just very interesting.

Not sure that ship-wreck hunting is that profitable : one has to allow for the opportunity cost : those fleets spending all day finding a sloop and a howker ( the most common finds) could have been trading and earning far more : upkeep costs must be included also as well as the investment in the fleet itself : as the chance of finding decent sized wrecks depends on having large crew numbers in the fleet, both upkeep and loss-risk increase if you want to find better than the occasional LMM.
Where the mega-fleet owners will profit is by sheer weight of numbers : recover 500 wrecks a day and you will find maybe 2 or 3 valuable wrecks, but that's a function of chance, not skill. Of course, you may just get that annoying 'no wrecks left here' message which is applying to more and more ports (currently, about half from my own research) while gazing fondly at hundreds of sloops, cutters and howkers cluttering up your ship list.
Still, its a neat and very cheap way to get the 500 ship bonus : now, 50 million bounty.. thats profit!

I agree it's profit only if you have sheer numbers like CDV he was at 1K ships when we have shipwreck introduced that's 200 fleets he was able to spread it 100 doing trade 100 shipwreck hunting so he is able to get 200 ships in 24 hrs if it is 10% to get higher value ships he can get 20 ships of high value per day and 180 ships of low value but like you said it is sheer power of numbers

I'd say the percentage chance to find a high-value ship is not that good : out of over 500 finds, only 2 have been worth more than an LMM2 : about 70% have been worth less than a LMM1 : maybe I have just been unlucky and chances would improve if I only used 2 Mow/3 sotl fleets... right.. I can see that happening... the minimum fleet I managed to assemble which got a 'perfect' rating was worth about 40mil hull value, not even CDv could manage more than a handful of those out of the 7k ships he has gathered.

PS : It's not worth looking to see what prizes are in my fleets : once I hit 500 ships and pocketed the phat bounty, they were all sold or put away in safe-keeping ; usual junk out there again.. sorry

Lol I still haven't hit that bounty and I am not planning so soon... I just used some stupid peecentages but I agree it's not that good and I wouldn't know I sold my MoW it was gathering dust and few planks were loose so I salvaged it
