Bury Treasure Alternative

Postby Admiral Nelson » Sat Jan 21, 2017 9:43 am

Recently, it was made obvious to me the Treasure Hunt feature is not as used as it use to be.

So I have come up with a Suggestion to help combat this - Which is a fleet movement.

One player, can send a fleet off with X amount of gold coin ( X depends on Cargo capacity - Not yet worked out ) )
- This fleet will take 6 hours to reach its 'destination'. ( Longer dependent on how heavy the gold coins are - Takes so long as they be looking out for pesky pirates )
- It is immune to Skirmish.
- Only means of making the fleet on Plunder page is, Hostile Natives/FFJ or Ambush.
- The gold coins in it, will not be 'accessible' nor will it be in your purse. For its going to be 'buried'

The gold coins, will go in a normal 'whole' of which you can instant travel the fleet - Which puts turns into the 'whole'. So instead of it taking 200 turns to bury a mass of gold coins, all you need is a fleet.

This is a general outline, but I hope you get the idea:
Fleet can take gold coins into a whole, instead of using turns to bury it.
It does need a lot of work, suggestions are welcome.
I was short on time whilst writing this.

Why not make it Gold Bars. Doesn't cost turns but if that's the case it can still be skirmished.

Risk/Reward.
I don't fear death. I look forward to it with great anticipation. For then I will met God face to face and let him know that I stole his Man of War!!!

Buying gold bars are already a good alternative to burying treasure, not to mention there is banks as well.

Way back, in the general discussions before GB were introduced, it was raised that they should be able to be buried, like coins, but as they were smaller, cost of burial and retrieval would be much lower : they would also be more difficult for treasure hunters to find for the same reasons : that update to Treasure Hunting seems to have got lost on the journey from there to here.

Thank you. It great to have older players around to fill us in.

The reason for this is, so players can have a alternative if there banks get full.

I believe, Burying your treasure should be competitive to Banks.
