Everyone reacts differently based on what they will or will not tolerate. I don't think Mac is thrilled about spending so much voodoo over something so minor, that said it does seem to be more than a minor offense to him doesn't it? If he would like to portrait the image that he'll tolerate voodoo but not the plunder hits i'm sure he is going to run into many costly bouts. Who knows though, maybe more will adopt this technique or method and the old law "lit is hit" or "On the board your fair game" will start to fall away.
If players were reluctant to attack a specific players fleet do to the recourse, being lit up may not be so bad since you won't take the hits from anyone but the player who has cast on you.
*Note: This is a difficult and costly avenue to follow, but it may pay off for some in the distant future who knows. Maybe Mac is onto something here.
(Some outside the box, perhaps future preparing insight).
All that said, Mac.. you won't just have your target to deal with.
