Long term player here. I stepped my game up this last year in the skirmish and bounty areas of play. That activity did not even get me in the top ten of player of the year. I would like to say congrats to Capt. Jack :y , maybe even Jessie A :xx , and the other other(s) :wheel for stepping up the admins contributions the last year. I have a list of top ten players in mind. However, I would like to know the qualifications we use to distinguish such pirates. Is it activity, success, teamwork, individuality, fame, influence, battles won, nation control, individual stats, plunders, ships stolen, gold earned/stolen/spent, forum activity, terrible voodoo suggestions, blah blah etcetera etcetera ?
Your thoughts...

Don't know how we got onto top 10. Haron just asked for 1 name of a player. Others, myself included, have nominated multiple people.

Assuming Haron will make a new Voting Poll post next week with the nominations.

My mistake. I was trying to say if this is what your voting for in an official thread, then this is the appropriate label.
Happy New Year positive pirates.

William one eye wrote:I was not here for the entire year, however from the time I started until now,
I saw some fairly impressive actions from the following players
not saying I agree with all of their actions or how they achieved them,
but I was impressed.

Charles Vane
Ivan
Avery
Valar
Big Tea
Phoenix Knight

highly impressed with Harons game suggestions and critiques, his devotion to them and focus on making the game better for all players,
not just that of the Naval combat solutions providers

my incredibly biased vote for player of the year goes to - Shadowood

that's a nice list will, but I would remove bigtea. he did some impressive stuff while he was here, but I think only active players should be eligible.

also if this were to be changed to a top 10 players of the year my list would probably be something like this(note this is not in order of greatness, just a simple list)
Shadowood
Phoenix Knight
Valar
Tom Lowe
Danik
Thelovetiger
Charles Vane
Avery
William
Ivan.

I might go into detail why I picked these players later, for now I am feeling rather lazy :D

A man may not be judged by what he says.

A man may be judged by what he does and what he stands for.

It may be that Danik should be awarded. He may have showed greatness outside the game.

Several nominations here. Not everyone got the criterium or the fact that this was about nominations, but no matter :-)

I will make a new thread for the voting. But first, I would like to add my nomination, although he's already been mentioned:

I nominate Avery. Not for his piracy in the game, but for his excellent journalist effort through the "Nelson's Posts". These issues were entertaining and informative. And some of the interviews should still be interesting to newer players, in my opinion.
