Shipwreck Hunting

Postby Captain Jack » Thu Dec 29, 2016 10:15 pm

You can now hunt for Shipwrecks!

These can be ships that have previously been drawn to sea bottom by either monster, disasters or during battle. Every ship, once it joins the sea bottom becomes a shipwreck with a specific location as shown here:

Code: Select all
Shipwreck locations rules are as following (in priority):
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
We check where the ship was at the sinking moment:
1.Docked at a port - shipwreck remains at the vicinity of this port.
2.Fishing - shipwreck remains at the vicinity of the fishing port.
3.Travelling - The port of the player who sunk it
4.Travelling but sunk by Leviathan - The last port the ship visited.

This means, that you can now track where a precious Ship of the Line has been sunk and try to recover it.

How it works

The feature is very simple and it has no need for a manual. Your crewmen will help you at the end of every journey with their experience.

You simply need to select a chore-free fleet and send it on the Hunt. Once you do so, the fleet will need 12 hours to complete a hunt. Once the hunt is complete, the fleet will return to the port and report its findings and experience.

You may hasten the trip with turns. Hastening a treasure fleet always requires 30 turns, no matter how many ships are in the fleet and no matter how much time is left.

Specials
-Danger counts normally! Beware when you are using instant complete.
-Shipwreck Hunting fleets do not appear to skirmish screen.

Enjoy!

This feature is a very large feature. I do not know if this will be anticipated by the playerbase or not. This feature has took as a fairly long time to complete mostly because we had to create a new system that will support future similar features, such as Expedition Journey.

The nature of this fleet action is like no other. There is no repetitive nature here, like there is in trade routes and fishing. There are no instant results either, just like plunder.

This also relates directly to the sea bottom. There are currently thousands of shipwrecks, so I guess they will be enough for the time being.

!

Can you elaborate on Experience. I sped a search and used 30 turns just to see the functionality. It was reported back that I didn't find any ships. Does this fleet gain "Ship Hunting Experience" or am I reading to much into that post?

Is this a percentage based finding. You have 25% chance of finding a ship. Of the 25%, 90% is Howker or Cutter, 1% is MoW?
I don't fear death. I look forward to it with great anticipation. For then I will met God face to face and let him know that I stole his Man of War!!!

Alas, your mighty explorers returned home with empty hands!

You need to send ships with more crew and cargo to even get a chance to find a shipwreck.

So, those with little ships can not find shipwrecks?... Tried 3 times, failed 3 times.

The crew will report back what they learned from their trip. Listen to their advice to improve.

Shadowood, the report you received was wrong. It happened to 4 more players. Issue has been fixed and all have been notified separately.
