Pistols and big guns both carry the same danger. I think even pistols are by far more destructive. Pistols are concealed weapons. You can't fit an AK in your pants, but you can fit a TEC-9 easily, just like columbine shooter could.

Pistols are the desired weapons for those school shootings. Desired weapons for any place. A fully auto is very hard to control, and hard to learn how to properly use

Signs that say "Gun Free Zones" are the desired weapon for those that want to commit mass shooting. Most causalities with least amount of resistance. How many mass shooting occur at police stations?

No guns are allowed at a School, but people bring them. None at airports, but people bring them.

And I do agree that there are not much shootings around a Police station, because that is stupid. The shooter won't get far. But in a school where there are children around? Oh, that is where they can flourish. And the saddest part is that they do.

But, I won't do this argument. Because I think the amount of gun deaths upon children is minimal. I am sure there were more deaths caused in the middle ages upon children than now.

But, when you pair us up with any other nation, and then view our murder rates, we rank top place.

FBI wrote:The estimated number of murders in the nation was 15,696.

During the year, there were an estimated 90,185 rapes. (This figure currently reflects UCR’s legacy definition. Learn more about the revised rape definition.)

There were an estimated 327,374 robberies nationwide, which accounted for an estimated $390 million in losses (average dollar value of stolen property per reported robbery was $1,190).

Firearms were used in 71.5 percent of the nation’s murders, 40.8 percent of robberies, and 24.2 percent of aggravated assaults.

Property crimes resulted in losses estimated at $14.3 billion. The total value of reported stolen property (i.e., currency, jewelry, motor vehicles, electronics, firearms) was $12,420,364,454.

No country with guns banned even goes near these rates. And these ignorant gun nuts still go behind this argument that has no backing "Oh, if we don't have guns then someone will and they will kill our families and we can't defend ourselves."

Well, lets put that logic in countries like Japan, UK.

Businessinsider wrote:Fewer than one person is murdered [in Japan] for every 100,000 in the population, compared to 4.8 for the United States .
http://www.businessinsider.com/why-japa ... low-2014-4

And UK? It is almost nothing.

It is amazing how countries like China which have a population over 4 times the size of ours only has 3% more deaths than the US.

China yearly Deaths: 13,410
US yearly Deaths: 12,996

-----------------------------

But as I view it. It is a cultural dilemma that some argue the price of having a gun is the price worth paid if it leads to all these troubles.

as a non-american i am hesitant to react to something as polarized and sensitive as the 2nd amendment.
i looked the original text up, and some commentaries on it. quickly it came clear to me that the whole debate is way beyond the original text. it's black and white with no middle ground, any proposition that does not ally with black has to be white (and the other way around). Two deaf people shouting to each other, unable to hear what is actually said.

Sadly this binary thinking is spreading all over the world. it simplifies the often complex issues and makes for great entertainment. Real life is almost never black and white. study a seemingly binary issue (e.g. protestant vs catholic in Ireland) and you find many more dominant reasons which create a complexity that is not easy to explain in a few one-liners.

The USA has a wonderful heritage, polarization destroys that; not the issues that trigger the polarization! through the ages people have had different ideas. Democracy and civilization in general will be eroded as long as both sides in any conflict rather see their nation destroyed than to seek a middle ground.

DOS, more people are killed in the US with baseball bats, hammers, or other blunt objects than by firearms. Don't see people calling for a ban on those items. The reality of gun violence is that a person pulls the trigger killing another, banning firearms from law abiding citizens does nothing, because criminals will still acquire firearms to commit crimes.

Show me a suitable statistic that proves that. As well, I debunked your "oh the criminals will use em" arguement in the other post before this.

As well, the FBI site that I listed above said 71.5% of all murders in the US are done with guns. Did you even read my post?

You don't need to be big to kill a big guy when a gun is there. A bat!?!?? Amagine sandy hook or columbine with a bat. Or airport shooting and mall shootings with instead bats. Or gangs using bats?! That is silly! Why use a bat when you can get a huge AK and pull up in a white van and spray down 10 people. Drive out in a few seconds. Shame this act is now very common, now called "Drivebys."

Idon't know the actual statistics but I'm willing to bet everything I own that the majority of the shootings in the US are done by gangsters over drugs so how willtaking guns away from the law-abiding citizens help stop that

Sorry I can't copy and paste a link ATM. A quick google search will prove me right. Only 20% of gun related murders are connected to gangs.

Even though I'm not crazy about using news sources as actual sources. They use fasts from the government as stated in their article. And provide links to the proof as well.
