Agreed. If they attack any of my non-existent trade fleets.... ITS ON!
Private extortion has been around forever. It does seem to be trending publicly nowadays.

Is it extortion,
when natives don't ask for coin
just rum to Regis
and song?

The natives sing,
they dance,
they threaten.

Hear my song now,
and don't be forgetin.

If one single native crosses my path,
I'll burn his whole tribe, with a smile and laugh!

Piracy,
A challenge,
An agreement or commitment,
Between God and a sea,
Before collecting a bounty,
Conditions and options,
A moment enlightened through darkness,
An astonishing attack,
Where a voooo cast plays a part,
The tricks are painful and joyful,
It follows to taste,
Sweet, sours, spicy and rich
Gold bars, resources and fame,
A dreamy legacy of fate awaits.

I forgot you were such a talented lyricist Lefty 8-)

Although it is a form of extortion, it provides a number of ways out of the 'trap' without use of personal valuables or gold.
The lyrically inclined can enjoy their craft and continue to trade if they so choose.

The opportunist in me sees fat purses on display and wonders if I am going to play 'stage 2" and cash in on some.

A better opportunist sees some low purses with good war fleets lit up.

On a serious note. 3 cheers to Merc for livening up the game and forums with this festival. I personally have enjoyed it.
